The infrastructure is not so bad after all. There are 800 high-performance computers in the range of Linux, Windows, SUN and Apple workstations and a good number of laptop systems in 26 laboratories. There is a separate department library with 800 books, manuals, project reports and lecture CD Rom.
The academics is quite good. There are lots of specialisations in every department. There are lots of faculties too. So the student to faculty ratio is good too. Most of the faculties are doctorates which is a plus.
The placement is good. Almost 99% of the students are placed in different IT companies. But most of them are offered less than 3lpa. So the investment to return value is not so good. Last year the highest package was 41lpa.
The college infrastructure is pretty good. The classes are maintained neat and clean. Hostels maintenance depends upon the hostels. The laboratories have enough lab equipments. The libraries are well-maintained. Overall SRM has a decent infrastructure.
I am a B Tech Computer Science Engineering student. The teaching here is okayish. The teachers may have a decent knowledge about what they are teaching but cannot clear our doubts and issues. Yes, the curriculum is updated and includes mostly all the recent developments I guess but the syllabus is too heavy for students and is a heavy burden.
The quality of placements in SRM is pretty good. A huge percentage of students get placed in decent companies with decent packages. Most of the computer science students get placed in their dream companies with decent salaries.
The yearly tuition fee charged per student for Computer Science engineering ranges from 2.5 lakh to 4.5 lakh depending upon the course and scholarship. It is a bit high according to me but is worth it when it comes to placements and academics.
Campus life in SRM is the best experience you can get. There are a lot of clubs outside our academics which we can join and learn and do projects in groups. There are also a lot of seminars conducted by clubs which we can attend and benefit ourselves.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology is a decent college to do our bachelor's degree. The infrastructure is pretty good and the academics are pretty decent too. The campus life here is really good and one which we should not miss. Overall, I would recommend this college for sure.
yes my college has excellent infrastructure all the living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic our classrooms have an air conditioned facility with projectors and speakers, the labs have required equipment.
quality of teaching is average and yes the curriculum is updated and includes recent developments. yes our study does not completely make us job ready but it sure does support in its preparation ......
great placement quality and almost 97 percentage of students were placed, our placement process is quite smooth and the average salary offered is around 4 L keeping the huge number of students in mind this is a good average
my course costed around 3.5L
its campus life is good overall and i have not had any major negative experiences till date
...
It has good facilities which are easy to access, it had wifi , restaurants, good labs and libraries. The food its good with good hygiene. There is a place to play sports and other activities. There is ac in the classrooms as well.
I am studying B.tech in CSE, the quality of teaching is good. It has all the recent developments and helps you in your future to find a job. I am studying computer science here cause i love the prospects and opportunities in this field.
The quality of placements is absolutely excellent. About 95%of the students get placed. The avarage salary is about 5-10 lakhs. And there is adequate help during placements. The highest salary package is 40 lakhs. The placement process is smooth and hassle free.
It costs 3.5 lakhs a year and its average when it comes to value for money. And considering the placements and campus life I think its worth the money. Plus there are opportunities for scholarships and many more.
The canpus is huge and the best thing is the freedom we have qnd the diversity. There is very little to complain. It has an hospital for medical studoes and its safe there especially for girls. Theee are train station nearby and ola and uber is very common there along with autoes and buses even though its located in the outskirts of chennai. The teachers are driendland the students are awesome.
I really recommend people to join this college.
The infrastructure here is really good. The University Building is fully air conditioned and also many other facilities like wifi for both in campus building and in hostels. There are different kinds of shops as welll.
Many teachers here are Ph.D scholars . The quality of teaching is good . When lab is talen into consideration, the lab assistants are not well-experienced. But definitely the quality is very good more than an average college. I would say the students should also study extra courses from online platforms.
SRM is known to have very good placements especially for Computer Science and Engineering students. The companies range frpm very good product oriented companies to small scale companies . So it depends on the student how much they are putting time and effort into it.
I would say that the price is really high than an average college whether is it tuition fees or hostel fees . But again the student can work hard to fain scholarship to compensate this high amount of fees.
The campus life here is really good . It is very nice to connect with a new network of people , help each other with works to improve each other. Usually Saturday and Sunday are holidays. So the students can make of this time really wel to learn extra courses as well.
Computer Science department here is the one of the best among all over the country . Also there are many opportunities provided to pursue our studies like the Semester Abroad Program.
The college infrastructure is neither bad nor good since it's an old college, the buildings and the classroom chairs and tables are old but they try to keep up the standards but boy's hostels are not up to the marks. Mess foods are okay, hostel wifi is really good.
I'm doing my 2nd year BTech CSE core since now everything online teachers don't teach the way they used to do offline they are just trying to finish the course and leave. nowadays the way they correct our papers is also bad they are not giving marks.
Our college says that it will provide 100% placements, but the truth is companies hire students for training. Then best students are selected, while the rest of the students are hired by low-level companies. You can expect an average salary package of around 5.5 LPA-6 LPA here. If you study at least a little bit and studious, then you can easily get a salary package of around 8 LPA-9 LPA.
For CSE btech it cost around 2l-3.5l per year
the only thing good in SRM is campus life and the way we enjoy
Basically, it all depends on the student's perception.
College building and labs are very good. Hostels are very nice and neat. They maintain the infrastructure of college and hostel very well. The food is clean and hygienic. There is cleaning work in hostel everyday evening.
Level of education is low as compared to government colleges. Fees is very high and the output we get is very low. Knowledge gained is less and we need to study on our own only to get marks and secure good position.
The average salary provided is 3lpa which is very less for the fees we pay. And it is tough to study everything mostly on our own. The companies come and take mostly all students but the package offered is very low.
The fees is 3.5 lakhs per year which is too high for engineering degree. And we can't expect good education in return for the amount we pay.
Campus is very nice and friendly. Faculties and students are very well mannered and caring. It will be a good experience and a peaceful place to study and get a job.
Overall it is good.
SRMIST kattangulathur has necessary infrastructure for a student to be helped with both academically and personally. It has adequate necessary shops nearby, the classes are pretty neat and clean and laboratory has quite decent lab equipments. I am not a hosteler so I can't speak for them but I've heard that some hostels are not clean. The mess food is also pretty bad sometimes. But canteen food is really good but I can't comment anything about the hygiene as I myself haven't been to the canteen.
I am a B tech CSE second year student with no specialization. I'm in my 4th semester now so I can speak for 1st and 2nd year. The syllabus is good but sometimes it can be a more which causes students a lot to study in a single semester for a course. Because of this students may not be able to learn other new subjects of their interests. Some teachers teach well but some do not teach very clearly. I think it would be better if the management could reduce the syllabus of some subjects.
I can't speak for placement experience as I myself am in 2nd year. But placement training is going for me and it is pretty good. SRM is known for it's placements and it has better percentage of students getting placed in companies. Mainly students in the computer science department gets placed in their dream companies with their dream salary (given they perform well in placements and have a good GPA).
For my course it costs around Rs.3,60,000 per year as tuition fees. Hostel fees may vary from 1k to 3k or 4k depending upon the hostel and its facilities. According to me the fees is a little bit higher and it could be reduced.
If you ask me, you can join SRM just for its campus life. It is just awesome. There are a lot of clubs which you can join and learn new stuffs. There are technical and non technical clubs are also there are two fests which happen every year. Aarushh (tech-fest) and Milan(music-fest). There will be a lot of seminars conducted by the clubs which you can join and educate yourself. There is also a lab called FABLAB which is open for students to design projects.
My college experience is awesome and unforgettable. Most of the time I will be in the library till midnight 2 am. I would definitely recommend students to join SRM if they want to experience the best college life. Also it is a nice place to get yourself ready for your placements or masters.
Infrastructure of my College is good. Large campus. Most facilities available within the campus. Wifi all across campus buildings. Multiple playgrounds available. Mess food is average. Cleaning is done in hostels regularly.
My computer science course was good. It covered majority of the latest technologies ( machine learning, cloud computing, AI, web/app development etc ). We can choose specialized stream from the first year onwards.
Placements are adequate. Many students get Over the Top packages. But that count is not large. Many mass recruiters visit offering average CTC. Most of the students get placed in these mass recruiter companies. Placement process and conditions are NOT good at all. There is no transparency.
My computer science course cost 3.5 lakh/year. Not adding one lakh per year for hostel. This amount is large. They do provide scholership if you score top in their entrance exam (srmjeee but this much amout of money is really very expensive.
Campus Life was great. Got to meet people from around the country. Almost half of students in engineering branch are from different states. Food courts are available in the campus. There is a srm hospital inside the campus. Students get free checkup during four years.
Overall, studying in SRM is like in a foreign university because of their amazing infrastructures and the students who come from various countries and states. So the students who wish to study here need to use the best out it because this is an excellent platform to build themselves.
As far as infrastructure, facilities are concerned, SRM has outdone itself. The classrooms, labs, and libraries included all have the updated tech and the collection of the number of research books you can find at the library is just massive. If there are any issues, the IT Department at the SRM Institute solves the issue then and there. The hostel buildings, however, are too old. They are regularly well maintained, properly serviced but still are quite old and won't have the hygiene standards.
The curriculum is very well updated and includes all the things required for your field of study. The quality of teaching however lacks some standards and will not be up to the mark. Since most of the students come from outside the south of India, the communication between the student and teachers becomes difficult when it comes to speaking the common tongue, English.
As always, SRM has one of the best placement offices and most of the students are placed quite well. SRM students have been placed at Amazon, Paypal, and Microsoft in recent years. Most of the students find themselves in TCS, Infosys, or any of the top MNCs around the country.
Computer Science is quite costly, but with regards to other colleges, SRM costs lesser.
There are tons of student clubs and so many things the students can be part of. One of the best features of SRM. Being a part of these clubs have actual value.
SRM is a decent place when it comes to finishing your bachelor's.
Hello,
If I were choosing between these colleges, I would generally prefer MIT Manipal, LNMIIT, SRM KTR, and JIIT before SOA.
That doesn't mean SOA is a bad college. In fact, it's a decent option with good infrastructure and placements, especially for CSE-related branches. But when compared to MIT, LNMIIT,
Hi,
With 75–80 marks in AP EAMCET and 582/600 in IPE (around 97%) , you have a strong board score, which will help in the rank calculation.
Based on recent trends, you can roughly expect a rank somewhere in the range of 8,000–15,000 , though normalization and your specific shift
