With this percentile, your rank would be between 165679 - 120612, with this rank you can get seat in NIT through gen ews quota. Although cut off varies every year depending upon no of students appearing, qualifying, no of seats available, difficulty level of exam.

NIT Nagpur cut off 2019

For CS branch ( EWS category)

for home state quota 999 rank

For other state quota 759 rank

This is as per 2019's data, cut off changes every year

So you may or may not get seat it is difficult to predict exactly.

Hello padmasapavat1983 , Yes Nit nagpur is good for civil engineering because it offers many placements and also there are some inter-course benefits in it. The average package for a civil engineering is 5.9 LPA. And also the highest is 12 LPA where the least stands at 4.5 LPA.

Best branch in nit calicut is computerscience  engineering because of its placement record is almost 100% in cse and the top recruiters visiting are Amazon, Microsoft, Jp morgan , Morgan Stanley,  GoldmanSachs, L&T, Oracle...

While nit nagpur is best in electronic and cse because most of this branch get placed in tip companies and salary package offers is also high.

In each NIT there is a option to change branch. But change of branch depends upon following criteria.

1. Whether there is any seat available in your preferred branch or not.
2. You need to be the topper of your batch as there will be counselling as per CGPA achieved in 1st year.
