Academics
I am delighted with the quality of the Economics faculty here. Our professors are exceptionally knowledgeable and I find their teaching methods quite clear. They encourage me to think critically beyond the textbook material. I am always comfortable approaching them with my complex doubts. I feel well-prepared for the challenging University examinations. My learning experience is the absolute highlight of this college.
College Infra
I find the buildings possess a distinct historical charm, which I like. However, the infrastructure is honestly very old and needs updating. My classrooms are usable but I often wish for better seating arrangements. Although they are making huge renovation and structural changes now.
Campus Life
I experience a lively and vibrant atmosphere daily at the college. The prime location helps me socialize easily with my friends after classes. I enjoy the various departmental fests and cultural programs when they happen. The location of the college is very close to my house so it is another plus point for me.
Placements
I must be completely honest and say placements are not a major strength here. For Economics Honours, I see very few relevant companies visiting campus. Most opportunities I hear about are for general roles or for the Commerce section. I feel the college placement cell needs to focus more on core Economics profiles. I am personally preparing for higher studies instead of relying on the current placement scenario.
Value For Money
I truly believe this college offers phenomenal value for money. The fee structure is incredibly low and completely accessible for me. I am getting a very reputed University of Calcutta degree. The academic quality provided by the experienced faculty justifies the low cost entirely. I consider this one of the best financial decisions I have made. I recommend this college highly on the basis of its affordability.

I am genuinely impressed with the academic standards and teaching quality here. My professors are knowledgeable and make economics concepts easy to understand through practical examples. Regular assignments and tests keep me engaged and the examination pattern is fair, helping me build a strong foundation in economics.
College Infra
The infrastructure situation at my college is average at best from what I have experienced so far. The campus has these really old buildings but they are being repaired. The library has decent books but limited seating space. Washrooms need better maintenance which bothers me. Overall, it functions but still needs major improvement for student comfort.
Campus Life
I genuinely enjoy the vibrant and energetic campus environment and the general atmosphere of our college. I have made diverse friends from various departments, and the annual fests and cultural events are always highly engaging for me. The location is perfect for a quick snack or tea break with friends with every local support infrastructure available, overall making it a safe place.
Placements
The placement cell lacks activity and does not organize proper training sessions for undergraduate programs. Most of my seniors found jobs independently which concerns me. I feel the college should improve corporate connections and bring better opportunities for students like me who wants campus placements.
Value For Money
For the minimal fees I am currently paying, I believe this college offers absolutely exceptional value to me. I am accessing quality education and essential resources at a mere fraction of the cost of private institutions. This fee structure helps me to easily afford external coaching or specialized skill courses. I consider this admission decision to be financially very sound for me.

Academics
The academics here have genuinely impressed me and I feel like I am learning substantial content in my economics honours course. Most of our professors are well qualified and experienced, and they really know their subjects deeply which shows in their teaching methods. I particularly appreciate how they encourage classroom discussions and make us think critically about economic concepts rather than just memorising textbook definitions. The syllabus follows Calcutta University guidelines and covers both theoretical and practical aspects of economics quite comprehensively in my opinion. However, I do feel that sometimes the pace of teaching could be better coordinated and there should be more focus on contemporary economic issues. The examination system is fair and the internal assessments help us stay consistent with our studies throughout the semester, which I find really beneficial for my learning process.
College Infra
I have to admit that the infrastructure here is quite basic and nothing fancy to write home about. The buildings are old and but they are being renovated in recent times. Our classrooms are decent enough for lectures but the furniture could definitely use an upgrade because some benches are really uncomfortable for long hours. The library is probably the best part of the infrastructure as it has a good collection of books, though I wish it had more space and better seating arrangements. The college does have a canteen but it is small and gets extremely crowded during breaks, which can be frustrating. Overall, I would say the infrastructure serves its purpose but there is significant room for improvement in terms of modernisation and upkeep.
Campus Life
Campus life here is moderate and not as vibrant as I expected before joining. The college hosts annual fests and cultural programs which are enjoyable. I have made good friends and we spend time together during breaks. However, there are limited extracurricular activities and clubs compared to other colleges.
Placements
Honestly, placements are quite weak here and this is my biggest concern about the college. The placement cell exists but does not bring many good companies for recruitment drives. I have seen very few students getting placed through campus interviews. Most economics students either prepare for competitive exams or search for jobs independently. The college does not provide adequate training for interviews or soft skills development. I wish they would work harder on building industry connections and bringing better opportunities for us students.
Value For Money
Considering the low fees, I think this college offers decent value for money overall. The annual fees are very affordable compared to private colleges in Kolkata. I am getting a Calcutta University degree without putting financial pressure on my family. The academics are good enough to justify the cost. However, if placements were better, it would be perfect value. For students from middle class families like me who want quality education without heavy expenses, this college is a practical choice.

Ashutosh College, Kolkata offers admission on a merit basis in undergraduate courses and on an entrance basis in the post-graduate course. The candidate can simply take admission in undergraduate courses based on his 12th marks. Since you are interested in BSC Computer science, the basic qualification for this course is that a candidate who has passed his 12th with at least 50% marks in physics/ 45% marks in statistics and passed in mathematics are eligible to get admission in this college.
The total fee structure of this college is 89,250 rupees.

will i get jobs if I pursue Ba in psychology in this college?
Honestly if you consider dear, in case of BA courses colleges do not provide official placements. However you can sit for off campus interviews and get a good job, Most often this college will give you a good opportunity to do internships that can provide you jobs in future.
Ashutosh College is indeed a very good option, where you will gather profound knowledge from experienced faculties.

Is it worth to do diploma/advanced diploma in Software development at Asutosh College, kolkata?
See if you want to learn the thing then you can go for it. But don't keep expectation of placements etc as you know in such general degree colleges usually there aren't such facilities or proper facilities. So I would recommend you if you are interested in it then go for some other institution which offers you a proper placement cell.
Although if you learn the thing properly then you can earn by freelancing and on getting good experience you can go for corporates as well. But this will be time consuming at least 1-2 years. So if you want to get a job after completion of your course then try to pursue it from some place else.
