The college infrastructure is well enough for the students. students do have the facilities but some of the classrooms don't have smart boards. and some of it are not well cleaned . but rest of it is good and reliable.
I'm currently studying Major in psychology. department is quite well and supportive . but curriculum is not properly updated according to the current situation. it includes some contains which is not applicable in the field.
the quality of placements is good . My 70 percent seniors of the students got various jobs through interships . Some seniors become a psychologist. some seniors become a teacher and professor. college is supportive through out the whole process.
our theory class is normally in the class hall, but our lab class is held in the ac room, and there WiFi in the library. The facilities and infrastructure available for a typical academic course department include classrooms. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, whiteboards, and comfortable seating.
Our faculties are very good. Professors are very helpful. It makes the students industry ready. Semester exams are tough in the college, but the pass percentage is 80-85%. An relevant curriculam is crucial for preparing students for the workforce. It ensures that the knowledge and skills taught align with the demans of the modern inductry, making graduates more competitive and ready for their chosen careers
Don't expectplacement support from the college. This is a degree course college so there is no dedicated placements teams to help you with your placements . So would not recommend anyone to join this college if placements are the primary concern
The college is Nice and well maintained and greeny shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road ,a Humanities block ,a centenary building, and a second campus at Bhasa .Key amenities include a 90000 + volume library system
It's is affiliated to Calcutta University. It generally receives an academic rating of 4-5.The college is widely recognised for strong programs in science, humanities and commerce , particularly fields
Modest placement support though it's active placement cell.Median annual packages generally range between 3-4 lpa . major IT and services , Companies like TCS ,WIPRO and Infosys . Come to recruit from campus
Good ROI(Return on Investment)
Overall good
Yes, my college has the necessary infrastructure and basic facilities required for students. The classrooms are comfortable and suitable for regular classes, and the college has a library with useful academic resources. Computer and other learning facilities are available for students when required. The campus also provides basic sports and recreational facilities, along with a canteen and clean common areas. Overall, the infrastructure is satisfactory and supports the academic needs of students.
I am pursuing English Honours because I have a strong interest in English literature, language, and communication. The course helps me improve my reading, writing, communication, and analytical skills. The quality of teaching is good, and the teachers are supportive and explain the topics clearly. The curriculum covers important areas of English literature and language and provides a good academic foundation. Overall, I am satisfied with the course and teaching quality.
The placement opportunities at my college are satisfactory, with students getting opportunities through campus recruitment and other career-related activities. The college provides guidance and support to students during the placement process. As an English Honours student, I feel that placements are more suitable for students who develop additional skills such as communication, writing, computer knowledge and interview skills. Overall, the placement support is decent, although there is scope for more companies and better opportunities.
There's wifi access to students the wifi speed is decent not so fast, the labs, classrooms, and library are well equipped. The hostel is also good decent rooms fairly average sized rooms, there were good spots facilities some of the students even went for national and state level matches and even won the whole tournaments, the canteen food is average
Teachers were qualified and helpful, the teaching quality is not so good but not even bad either, sometimes teachers were present but the class was not conducted, the courses were actually relevant and the curriculum follows the university's guidelines. The difficulty level was moderate, passing percentage were about 70-80%
None of us in my batch received any placement, they did not even advertise anything about placements, if we consider off campus placements then companies like wirpo and infosys mostly recruited us as freshers, from our batch no one got an on campus placement
Our department need to improve the laboratory and also the class rooms should be increased in number as the number of students is getting more every year. And the department should also organise its own competitions so that every student can take part in such competition.
The faculties are very serious about the studies and they make it sure to complete the syllabus as early as possible so that the students can get enough time to revise. They also provide their own hand made notes to their students.
This thing is bad not about this college as it doesn't provide any placement to the students. They may give it to other departments but they should also provide the same for microbiology department..
Ok ok. The course price is reasonable as per the lab facilities and others .
Their campus is fully ragging free. The seniors are also helpful but you need to be a bit careful about political issues. It's also same for girls no molestation case s came in front still now.
The college has a big and widespread campus with several building housing the different departments as well as spacious classrooms, seperate seminar halls with air conditioning and a great main library as well as a seperate departmental library for each department which are very resourceful. Also, the college comes with a gymnasium and is partially air conditioned.
Asutosh college performs well in the economics department, with several fellow seniors who are academically very strong and the department has managed to secure a good result in the past years, thus buildinf a strong reputation for itself
Placements are a matter to be discussed in the later years of the degree, namely the 3rd year afterwards. I do not have much knowledge in the matter and thus would like to refrain from misguiding. I have not had an experience with placements yet.
The college fees are very meagre, the admission fees for the BSc economics program is under 10k for an entire year (2semesters). There are no additional costs apart from the examination fees, which are ofcourse subject to Calcutta University regulations.
The college offers a variety of experiences on campus, from libraries to classrooms to gymnasiums to labs and the canteens. Also the college is very strategically located so it is never a hassle to reach it,be it from any part of the city.
I find the campus buildings are older, but the Statistics department's computer lab is functional for me. We have the essential software required for data analysis and practical sessions. The library is adequate, especially for accessing foundational mathematics and statistics textbooks. I sometimes wish the infrastructure was more modernized, but it serves my basic academic needs.
I feel the academic teaching quality is very high, particularly in complex areas like probability theory and statistical inference. My professors are highly dedicated and encourage me to solve problems rigorously. I appreciate the emphasis on mastering core concepts and mathematical foundations, which I know is vital for my advanced studies. I believe the curriculum is challenging but rewarding.
I recognize that direct recruitment for a Bachelor of Science in Statistics Honours degree is minimal on campus. I understand that the college is designed to prepare me primarily for entrance examinations for a Master of Science degree or data science courses. I am actively pursuing external internships and skill development to enhance my marketability independently. I feel placement is not the college's main focus.
I strongly believe this college provides absolutely unbeatable value for money. The extremely low tuition fees are incomparable to the excellent quality of teaching and the rigorous academic discipline I receive. I get strong mentorship from seasoned professors without any significant financial strain. I think this college is the most cost-effective decision for a high-quality science degree.
My friends and I find the college environment friendly, but the campus is physically small and lacks extensive sports facilities. Socializing is pleasant and we often participate in inter-departmental quiz and debate competitions. We frequently utilize local spaces outside the college for relaxation. I feel the social life is decent, but nothing spectacular.
I find the buildings possess a traditional, historic feel, which is appealing. My classrooms are spacious and comfortable for me, but the digital teaching aids are outdated or sometimes absent. The library is excellent for accessing crucial economics texts. I wish the college provided better maintenance for the overall facilities. I think the infrastructure is completely acceptable.
I feel the academic standard here is truly above average, consistently pushing me to master my subjects. My professors are highly dedicated and provide strong theoretical grounding in microeconomics and statistics. I receive personalized attention during doubt clearing sessions, which I appreciate deeply. I believe the teaching quality is outstanding and prepares me well for my future.
understand that the college is not a corporate recruitment hub, and placements for Bachelor of Science in Economics Honours are minimal. I know that I must independently seek internships and opportunities in the job market after graduation. I feel the college should prioritize industry connection slightly more. I am focusing on competitive examination preparation instead.
I strongly believe this college provides absolutely unparalleled value for my money. The high quality of teaching and academic rigor I experience far surpasses the minimal tuition fees I pay. I am receiving a premium education without any financial stress. I think this college is the best financial choice I could have made for my degree.
I find the campus social life is surprisingly vibrant and engaging, especially within the departmental societies. My friends and I often participate in cultural events and debates that enhance my experience. I appreciate the location, which provides easy access to food and city life. I feel the community is supportive and active, which I genuinely enjoy.
I find the college buildings have a classic, old-world charm, but I admit the facilities sometimes feel slightly outdated. My classrooms are spacious and generally clean, but I wish for modern digital teaching aids in every room. The library is excellent, and I spend a lot of time there accessing rare economics journals and resources. I recognize the infrastructure is manageable, but I often look for more modern amenities.
I am deeply engaged in the Economics Honours program, and I feel the teaching standards are exceptionally high, which I appreciate. The faculty members are highly supportive and push me hard in subjects like econometrics and microeconomic theory. I get excellent, detailed feedback on my assignments, which helps me improve my analytical skills substantially. I feel the rigorous curriculum is perfectly preparing me for my postgraduate studies.
I know that Ashutosh College is primarily an academic institution, so the dedicated on-campus placement opportunities for Bachelor of Science in Economics Honours students are somewhat limited. I recognize that I must pursue off-campus internships and apply for jobs independently after my graduation. I am actively working on improving my quantitative skills to appeal to finance firms. I feel the college focuses more on academic research than corporate placements.
The tuition fees are incredibly low, and the quality of education I receive is absolutely premium. I get access to renowned professors and a challenging academic atmosphere without the heavy financial burden of a private university. I think it is the best financial decision I could have made for my degree.
I love the vibrant, bustling atmosphere that comes with being in a college right in the heart of Kolkata. I find the cultural societies and debate clubs especially engaging for me. The college provides great opportunities for networking with students from diverse academic backgrounds. I enjoy the active social scene and the proximity to local eateries, which my friends and I frequent. I feel truly connected to the city life here.

Honestly if you consider dear, in case of BA courses colleges do not provide official placements. However you can sit for off campus interviews and get a good job, Most often this college will give you a good opportunity to do internships that can provide you jobs in future.
Ashutosh
See if you want to learn the thing then you can go for it. But don't keep expectation of placements etc as you know in such general degree colleges usually there aren't such facilities or proper facilities. So I would recommend you if you are interested in it then go
