The classrooms are big. They have a lot of air which is really nice when you have to sit for a long time. Every classroom has big projectors and smart boards. Even though they do not always work perfectly you can tell that the college is trying to make things better. The seminar halls are really great. They are big enough to have big events without feeling too crowded. The engineering labs have a lot of equipment especially for things like Mechanical, Computer Engineering and Electronics. Students get to use the equipment themselves of just watching, which is how it should be. The computer labs have computers with pretty new software but when a lot of students are using them at the same time it can feel like there are not enough computers to go around. The engineering labs and computer labs are both important, to the college. They do a good job with them.
The college follows the university-prescribed syllabus. The curriculum covers the basics enough. However it can feel a little slow to catch up with what the industry's doing. There is a gap between what the college teaches and what employers expect. This gap is real. Students who bridge this gap tend to do on their own. They have to take the initiative to learn what the industry is actually doing now. The college curriculum is not always up to date, with the industry. The college is not always able to keep up with these changes.
A good number of companies come to our campus. These companies include IT service firms, a product-based companies, core engineering firms and some startups. Most of the jobs are given by IT companies. This is what happens at engineering colleges. It is possible to get a job at a product company or a high-paying tech firm after passing out from DY Patil. This does not happen often. The students who get these jobs are usually the ones who have worked hard and built profiles before the placement season starts. They are the exception. Getting a job at a company is not the rule for most students, at DY Patil.
The fees you pay do not automatically mean you will get a result. The fees you pay will get you a starting point and what you achieve from that point is totally up to you. If you are a student who's really motivated and and you make the most of every opportunity during your four years, at DY Patil College of Engineering then it is definitely worth the money you pay.. If you are paying a lot of money and expecting to get great results without putting in any effort then you will probably be disappointed. You need to go to DY Patil College of Engineering with a plan and a willingness to work hard. Then you will get value for your money. If you just expect DY Patil College of Engineering to do everything for you then you might feel like you have wasted your time and money.
The campus is clean. It has some green areas. They take care of the campus so it does not look like nobody is taking care of it. The campus is not huge like you see in movies or pictures.. The campus has its own special thing that you will like when you stop thinking about what you thought it would be, like and you actually see it for what the campus is. The campus is nice. It grows on you over time. You will like the campus once you get to know it. The campus has a lot of character. That is what makes it special.
the human connections you make here will teach you things no syllabus ever could
The college has good infrastructure with modern computer lab prestigious classroom Wi-Fi campus. It has kid shares three campus within the same area. The facilities are suitable for both academic and student activities. So yeah, it’s good.
First year academy conducted properly with balance of the theory and practical sessions. Faculty members are approach. Students get support during assignments and labs. Although our college is autonomous, it doesn’t really help students.
Placements are not focused in the first seniors, often mention good intentions and placement percentage for engineering students who built skills and most of the core companies do visit like Google, Accenture, Deloitte, etc
The college of good exposure in academic support, but students who are involved in technical activities can gain worthwhile overall experience from start, but the fee is on the higher side and some people are often accepted in other ways
It offers heck of a lively campus life, cultural events, scoring activities, sports and students get any opportunity and they are given a right to choose in which direction they want to consider the talent to showcase to others to new people.
The infrastructure of D.Y. Patil College of Engineering is overall good and continuously improving. The campus is well-maintained, clean, and organized, providing a comfortable environment for students. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with modern teaching facilities such as projectors and digital boards, which enhance the learning experience. The laboratories are well-equipped with the necessary instruments for practical knowledge, although some labs may have slightly outdated equipment that could be upgraded. The college also has a library with a good collection of books, journals, and digital resources, which supports academic learning and research. Students have access to Wi-Fi across the campus, but connectivity can be inconsistent in certain areas like common spaces. The campus also includes seminar halls and auditoriums with proper audio-visual systems for events, workshops, and guest lectures. Careers360 +1 In terms of other facilities, the college provides sports grounds, a gym, and cafeteria services. The canteen is decent, though the quality of food can be improved. Hostel facilities are available with basic amenities and security, but they are not located directly on campus for all students. One drawback is that the campus can feel crowded at times since multiple institutions share the same premises. CollegeDekho +1 Overall, the infrastructure is satisfactory and student-friendly, with scope for improvement in areas like Wi-Fi strength, equipment modernization, and space management.
The academic environment at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering is decent and provides a good foundation for students, but it largely depends on individual effort. The college follows the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) curriculum, which covers core engineering concepts well, although some parts of the syllabus can feel slightly outdated and theoretical. Collegedunia The faculty members are generally qualified and supportive. Many professors explain concepts clearly and are approachable when students need help, especially during practicals and project work. However, the quality of teaching is not consistent across all subjects—some faculty members are very helpful, while others rely more on traditional teaching methods. Careers360 The college conducts regular lectures, assignments, practical sessions, and internal exams, which help students stay engaged with their studies. Workshops, seminars, and technical events are also organized to enhance practical knowledge and exposure to industry trends. The curriculum includes relevant subjects, especially in branches like Computer Engineering and AI, but students often need to do additional self-learning through online courses and projects to become fully industry-ready. Careers360 Overall, academics at the college can be considered moderate—neither excellent nor poor. It provides a solid base, but students who want to excel need to go beyond the classroom and actively build their skills independently.
Placements at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering are generally decent and improving year by year, but they are not exceptional compared to top-tier colleges. The college has a dedicated placement cell that actively works to bring companies and prepare students through training sessions, mock interviews, and aptitude practice. A good number of companies visit the campus every year, including well-known recruiters like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, and sometimes product-based companies. Collegedunia The overall placement rate is around 70–80%, which is satisfactory for a tier-2/tier-3 college. The average package usually ranges between 3.5 LPA to 6–8 LPA depending on the branch, while higher packages are offered to a few top-performing students. Branches like Computer Engineering and IT have better placement opportunities compared to core branches such as Civil and Mechanical, where opportunities are relatively limited. Collegedunia Collegedunia Collegedunia One important thing is that placements here are highly dependent on individual skills, projects, and preparation. The college provides opportunities, but students need to actively work on coding, internships, and real-world skills to secure good packages. Some students also get placed through off-campus opportunities, especially in higher-paying roles. Careers360 Overall, placements can be considered average to good. The college provides a solid platform, but achieving a high package requires consistent effort, skill development, and self-learning beyond the college curriculum.
The value for money at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune can be considered moderate. The total fees for the B.Tech program are around ₹4.5–5 lakhs for four years, which is somewhat on the higher side compared to some government or lower-tier private colleges. However, the college does provide decent infrastructure, academic facilities, and placement opportunities that justify the cost to some extent. Collegedunia +1 The college offers scholarships for students from reserved categories and economically weaker sections, which significantly reduces the financial burden and makes it more affordable for many students. For students who actively participate in academics, build skills, and make use of placement training, the return on investment can be satisfactory. Average placement packages and a decent placement percentage also contribute to making the fees somewhat worth it. Collegedunia Careers360 However, for students expecting top-tier placements or very high packages, the college may not fully justify the fees. The curriculum is decent but requires additional self-learning to become industry-ready. Also, some extra costs like exam fees and other charges are not always included in the main fee structure, which adds to the overall expense. Collegedunia Overall, the college offers fair value for money—not the best, but not poor either. It is worth it for students who are willing to put in consistent effort and take advantage of the opportunities provided by the college.
Campus life at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering, Pune is quite lively and engaging, offering a good balance between academics and extracurricular activities. The college regularly organizes cultural fests, technical events, sports competitions, and various club activities, which allow students to explore their interests beyond studies. These events provide opportunities to interact with peers, build confidence, and develop soft skills. Careers360 The campus environment is generally friendly and diverse, with students from different backgrounds, which helps in building a strong social circle. There are multiple student clubs and committees where students can participate in coding competitions, workshops, hackathons, and cultural programs. This makes campus life more dynamic and less monotonous. Careers360 The college also has decent sports facilities, open spaces, and common areas where students can relax and spend time with friends. However, one drawback is that the campus can sometimes feel crowded since multiple colleges operate within the same campus area. The canteen and food options are average, and while they are affordable, quality can vary. Collegedunia Overall, campus life is enjoyable if you actively participate in events and activities. The college provides enough opportunities for personal growth, networking, and fun, but your experience largely depends on how involved you are.
