Admission Process 2021
The Francis Xavier Engineering College (FX), Tirunelveli offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in engineering and technology. It also offers programmes in management studies and computer applications. To get admission to B.E offered by the FX, students need to appear for the state level counseling - Tamilnadu Engineering Admission (TNEA), conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu. There is no entrance test for TNEA counseling and the merit list will be prepared based on the candidates' score at 12 class, choice filling, choice locking, and document verification. Admission to M.E, M.Tech, and MBA is based on the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). To get an admission to MCA the candidates need to submit the application form to the concerned department of the FX. The detailed admission process of the FX is given below.
Admission process for B.E.:
Students need to appear for the counseling - Tamilnadu Engineering Admission (TNEA), conducted by the Department of Technical Education (DoTE) of Tamil Nadu.
DoTE conducts Single Window Counseling through Anna University, Chennai
For appearing in counseling round students need to register in TNEA portal.
The final list will be prepared accordingly the weightage to percentile obtained by the candidate in TNEA and board exam.
Admission process for M.E:
Students need to appear for the entrance examination - (TANCET), conducted by Anna University.
Students can visit the official website of Anna University to register themselves for TANCET.
Counseling is conducted based on the ranking in the entrance examination.
Candidates with a valid GATE score are eligible for direct admission.
The final selection is based on the merit list prepared by the authoritative body.
Admission process for MBA:
The candidate should possess a decent score in any of the entrance examinations such as the TANCET and Common Entrance Exam from the Consortium of Self-financing Institutions of Anna University.
The final selection is based on the rank achieved in the entrance exam.
Admission process for MCA:
The candidates need to submit the application form to the concerned department.
Shortlisting will be carried out based on the qualifying examination.
