GCET Jammu also provides admission directly to the 3rd Semester of the 4-year BE degree course based on the Common Entrance Test to be conducted by the University of Jammu under the lateral entry scheme.

GCET Jammu provides 3 postgraduate programmes in Engineering which is M.Tech in multiple disciplines. GCET Jammu M.Tech course includes Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering as its various streams.

Candidates are required to meet the M.Tech eligibility criteria and then appear for GATE.
In the absence of having an adequate number of candidates with valid GATE scores, the University of Jammu will conduct its own written/online test for admission to the said programme.
After the result declaration, the cutoff will be released and candidates have to fill out the college application form.
The institute will shortlist candidates based on the rank list prepared on the basis of the entrance test.
After preparing the rank list based on GATE scores/percentage of marks, shortlisted candidates have to submit the documents for verification and pay the fees to confirm admission.

Rs. 1.15 Lakhs is the fee of the M.Tech course.
Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) conducts the common entrance test for admission to the B.E programmes.
Total 18 seats are available for the M.Tech programme.
For B.E programme, students should have 50% marks in the 10+2 examination or equivalent with English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (Science Group) from the recognised board.
