Hi ! No, you can't get an admission to there. IIST is a very good and top notch institute for b.tech students. To get there you need to have a rank between 4000-6000 in general category. So, getting there is bit tough. So hope you understand and best of luck to you.
Hellos!
IIST has BTech in Aerospace engineering, and not Aeronautical engineering.
Aerospace engineering JEE Advanced percentage cut off was 64.21% (opening percentage) and 53.83% (closing percentage) for the general category in 2017. For avionics, JEE Advanced percentage cut off was 60.93% (opening percentage) and 52.19% (closing percentage) for the general category in 2017. In 2018, the cut off was 43.89% (opening rank) and closing rank was 34.17% for the general category for Aerospace engineering.
If talking about Indian Institute of Space Scienec and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram then JEE Advanced is must as merit lists are prepared on the basis of JEE Advanced Scores and no candidate can apply without entering JEE Advanced Scores so it is necessary.
Talking about Indore Institute of Science and Technology (IIST), Indore then admission procees is done in phases in which first phase is for those who apperaed in JEE Mains exam. Second is for those who could not appear in JEE but have qualifying marks in higher secondary examination and applied for participation in online councelling of DTE. Last phase is for those who have JEE or qualifying marks but could not apply for participation in online councelling process od DTE MP.
