My college had all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Along with that, my college campus was very beautiful as it had amazing scenic beauty. The classrooms, libraries, sports centers and hostels were spacious, well-equipped and maintained. Also, the living spaces were clean and food was healthy and hygienic.
The course I pursued was BE in Civil Engineering because I was passionate to learn and implement the concepts of construction and development of infrastructure in our country. The quality of teaching was outstanding and experience-based. The curriculum was up-to-date and included all the recent developments in the field. The course made me job-ready as well.
The quality of placements at my college was exceptional as even after being a government college in a remote area of Assam, more than 70-80% of the students in our college used to get placed due to its reputation and huge alum base. The highest salary package used to cross an amount of 20 lacs for the CS branch and the average package was around 6-7 lacs. The placement process was very smooth and the college was supportive.
The college is best in terms of value for money as I got a great ROI from the college. I myself got placed in Amazon and I paid a fees of total 60 thousand in my B. Tech(15k per year).
The campus life was best and I learnt a lot there.
Made very good friends there
The facilities, infrastructure and equipment are not up to date. The laboratories have equipment’s but improvement is required. A good thing is that it has a very well equipped gym, and hostels have WiFi.
Quality of teaching is good, but can obviously be better. Curriculum may be updated and practical lessons and real life applications should be encouraged. Overall, quality of teaching is not bad, but can be improved.
Placement is actually very good. Better than expectations. During my graduation I saw companies like HUL, TCS, IOCL, ITC and more. For a state government college, placements are very good. Salary average was 7-8 Lpa
Facilities are there but need improvement and maintenance, electricity needed to be improved and wifi system need to be available for everyone, a strong network needed to be installed and labs are constructed newly.
Teaching quality is good, curriculum is mostly completed. The course is completed slowly but steadily, topics are taught by most teachers clearly and teachers and Approachable, frank enough to ask doubts
Placements scenarios are pretty good. Both govt and private companies come to the college for placements and for freshers salary is ok for private company and for government company the salary is great.
It's worth the money completely.
Campus life is great, support staff needed to be more co-operative with students.
The College is a great place for engineering and is one of the best colleges of northeast of India. Students get admission here after qualifying the Common Entrance Examination for Assam. And get their suitable branch according to their rank
Faculties are highly qualified and have a great expertise in their respective department. Academic record are of great standard. The college has a extraordinary legacy since 1960 and still is one of the best college in the northeast.
Decent to top companies visit every year to recruit the students from the college. Companies like Vedantu, Indian Oil Corporation, NRL, Oil and Natural Gases Corporation and various other tech and core companies along with PSUs visit here
The College is Highly value for money as the academic fee is less than other colleges of the northeast and provides good placement opportunities to the students and the training and placement cell is very active.
Great campus with senic beauty and eye pleasing greenery. The college is very clean and highly maintained. The college campus also has a lake inside the campus which is very relaxing and eye pleasing to look at.
THE COLLEGE IS BEST. It provides a good exposure and has various clubs where various skills are taught and students are relevant industry skills and get good industry exposure and ultimately get good placements.
Talking about the college infrastructure we can say that it is quite good considering that it is a government college.JEC have good infrastructure that are needed for the average development of the students.
Academics is really needed to be appreciated. Specially talking about the Department of Computer Science and Engineering we have only 6-7 Professors but the way they manage everything and their true dedication towards the students is really appreciable .
Talking about the placements from JEC has really improved over the years. Last year in 2022 Maximum students from Department of Computer Science and other branches also got placed in various companies as well as in PSU like OIL. The maximum package being 22-23 Lakhs from OIL
Our college Jorhat Engineering College, JEC has a decent campus with 77 acres of land. It has a lake also, Our college has been established in 1960 and infrastructure is getting better day by day. All the modern facilities are available here.
Academics in jec is strict , There is a strict attendance policy of 75% otherwise you get Non collegiate (NC) and if less than 65 % then DC which means Dis collegiate and you're not allowed to sit for the exams so attending classes regularly and maintaining attendance is a necessity here.
Placements are average in comparison to AEC, AEC has better placements as it is in the capital Assam. We have companies like Vedanta, NRL and OIL which comes for core job roles and provide pretty good package but very few students get placed in them.
College infrastructure is not bad we have all the facilities, workshops and labs.We also have AKB auditorium which has a great view with occupancy of 400 people and it is air-conditioned.The lake in front of the main building gives a terrific view.
I am a first year undergraduate student of instrumentation engineering department doing my Bachelor's of Technology here. Our course curriculum is designed as per AICTE guidelines and are updated. Our college is NBA accredited.
Placements is good but is majorly dependent on the individual students. If he/she is good in soft skills and hard skills then definitely placements are good for that particular person and can get a decent package.
Our college campus is so big, It is bounded almost 78 acres land it's like a nit in future it will develop to much more. Newly constructed a central library as huge area and 2more hostel and a indoor stadium.
I am a student of mechanical engineering branch i have chosen this branch in this college because of their teaching staff are so talented and the reputation of this branch i think college will update the branch in future
Placement of this college is average some of private companies are visite like vedanta, dalmia etc some of topper students are get psu ,nrl and oil India limited there placement are not excellent but I believe it will be developed
The infrastructure is decent enough the college has all the necessary labs and seminar rooms but in comparison to NITs ,It lacks heavy modern and fancy infrastructure. It will improve in future as construction of a central library and indoor stadium is in process.
Academics are same in all colleges under ASTU but JEC is a bit more hectic than other colleges because of strict internal exams and strict attendance policy of 75% .The classes begin from morning 8:00am which is the real pain.
Placements aren't great here If you are the topper then you'll get placed in PSUs with a good package and few private companies also hire at decent packages but majority service based companies don't offer good package.PSUs such as NRL,OIL,ONGC does visits the campus and JEC is progressing and improving it's placement significantly.
The course fees for your entire B.Tech is around thirty five to forty thousands including everything but it you opt for hostel then you'll have to pay around ten-thousand for admission which is one time.
Campus Life depends on individual to individual for me it's pretty good but people from big cities might feel bored here.Campus size is also decent there's a lake or pond (whatever you consider it) inside the campus right infront of the administrative building aka old building giving it a mesmerizing view . Life outside campus might not be happening because Jorhat is a small town and has limited facilities. There are very few places where you can enjoy your weekends.
If you want to be an engineer you won't regret joining JEC.Our alumni base is very strong we've our alumnis in every field and every part of the World .Dr.Rupam Sarma alumnus of JEC is presently advisor to US president Joe Biden.
Yeah, our college has been constantly improving its infrastructure till date. Although there is some lack in infrastructure but it's all about our academics. Moreover for our practical demonstrations, there are sufficient equipments particularly my department.
I am pursuing engineering in mechanical department. And as far as I can say, it's upto the mark. The teachers of our department are approachable. Also now , our curriculum is newly upgraded and upto the gate level.
The quality of our placements have been average till date. The computer science department almost get their 100 percent placement and talking about other departments, it is average. Every year, psu comes although their recruitment percentage is low.
Hello Abhi,
Hope you are doing well.
On the basis of your rank obtained there seems less chances of yours to get CSE in JEC.The rank you obtained does not comes under the closing rank required to get CSE in JEC when compared with previous year closing rank. The previous year closing rank for OBC was between 77-70 .You can also visit the link below to see previous year closing rank of JEC:
