There are good points and there are bad ones. Infrastructure is average with no maintenance. College has no proper boundary. Fundings are not properly being used because of bureaucracy. Industry and internships are exposure are good. Dictatorship of teacher and incapable Principal. I have skipped many more positive and negative points. Be very decisive in choosing the college.

One of the Best Engineering College in the North-East

Jorhat Engineering College is more than 50 years old. Its campus is located in Garmur Area of Jorhat, Assam. It is a fully residential college with a campus area of 200 acres. The infrastructure of the college is good, we get high-speed internet facilities. Hostels are good but the mess food is terrible. Industry exposure college is very weak. Since it is in the uppermost area of Assam there is not much connection with the corporate world. my friends and hostel life activities made my college life enjoyable. The student crowd is a mix of students from all the states in north-east India so there is lots of cultural exchange happening daily. It is a state governed engineering college so we pay only a nominal fee. students need not take an education loan for studies.

Awesome Experience ; Creating Memories worth a lifetime.

A SECOND HOME TO LEARN AND GROW SIMULTANEOUSLY. A very good college with a great affordability. Overall it is a very good experience studying at Jorhat Engineering college(JEC); Situated at the Education hub of Assam - Jorhat. I learned a lot of things from this college, from managing my personal life to social life, my actions, my emotions, everything.placement is average in this college. Faculties are well knowledgeable and guide a student throughout the semester. The fee of this college is affordable, I will give 5 out of 5 in this section.Our college has a digital library. The whole college campus is connected through Wi-Fi.there are different student driven club for the overall development of the student.

Cheapest engineering college

JEC and AEC are the two cheapest engg colleges under state govt of Assam. Infrastructure needs maintenance, academic performances of students are good so are the elite faculties. These days placements are less rather scarce. All in all it's the best state govt college and supports every eligible and avid engg student to pursue his/her interest.

A bit outdated, but still one of the best in Assam.

My experience in JEC was pleasant, with good amount of technical as well as extra-curricular knowledge gathered during the 4 years. Even though I did not stay in the college hostels, I know that the old hostels had good basic infrastructure with 24/7 electricity and a very hi-speed internet connection. As for the faculty, I found each of them competent and willing to help out students with even the smallest of problems. The placements were good as many top recruiters came to our college during my time. Overall, it was indeed a very good experience for me.

One of the best engineering colleges of Assam

Placement actually deserves a 3.5/5..It is a Government College,faculty is good..Computer Science and Engineering department deserves a special mention in this regard...Education fee(for 4 years) would be < 45K(approximately) excluding hostel fee....So, you get good education,a job(may be),a Govt. "tag" at just 45,000/- ...so,overall,the rating would be a 4/5 from my side :)

"Jorhat Engineering College,generally called JEC was established in the year 1962. It is one of the oldest technical colleges in the country.Holding strongly a legacy of 50 years,JEC certainly plays a major role in spreading the technical revolution in North East India. The college has spread around a lush green campus boasting itself excellent facilities for earning knowledge amidst the love of nature. It has 10 hostels with hi speed internet connectivity, several computer labs,gymnasium,auditorium,several playgrounds and is well connected to the city by buses and other lighter means of transportation. From engineering point of view,the college has all the necessary faclities including labs,workshops equipped with modern machineries and equipments. "

College placement is very poor and there is a canteen for Engg students of this college but quality is very bad .Library is somehow good and no comments about faculty members.
