If you are looking for core branches and you don't get them in NITs ,IITs,DTU and NSIT then come straight to NPTI Badarpur. ince it is located in the one of the outermost areas of Delhi, there's no place to chill nearby and most students prefer to head straight back to their home. Once in a while they do go to South Delhi's malls like Select City Walk Saket, MGF Metropolitan and DLF Place. Other places include Qutub Minar, Badarpur market a dhaba called London Farms.

Poor infra, degree issues would be there when you will be appearing for gate ,, poor crowd, no nearby place to hangout, earlier college was known for 100% placements but those days are gone, most of faculty is on contract basis, college adminstration doesnt heed any attention to students overall your life will suck if you got admitted in this college.

NPTI is a specialised college for power engineering which is good to be in if a student wants to be in the power sector. Industry exposure is very high as college is situated in NTPC campus. Regular visits and training to plant are provided by the college. Though college life is not as others have but it is a good place for students who want to pursue their career in the power sector. It is specifically designed for it only.

Amazing four years with unmatched exposure to energy sector

Typical hostel rooms of 60's and mess food, we all are aware of. Located within NTPC Badarpur had given us unmatched knowledge of commissioning , erection, generation, transmission, distribution. The institute has its own computer center, along with the full furnished library, a cricket and football ground. Simulator training and overhauling experience of power plants including scheme tracing of transmission lines and industry training at BHELl, PFCI. Flexible in terms of course and parties. ISGEC, PFCI, and FIEDA offered placement offers to me, that ranged from 4.75 to 7.6 LPA.

NPTI do not have any fancy buildings or classrooms but the college atmosphere and freedom of student is excellent. There is no attendance issue and the college is good for the students looking forward to GATE, GRE, CAT examinations in future. The faculty is good. Overall the best college in this specific course that is Power Engineering. Placement is good but not as good as it was 3-4 years ago. Will recommend this college with the rise in power sectors in India.

The campus of NPTI Badarpur is not very big and it doesn't have large and glamorous buildings but it does suffice the infrastructural needs of engineering students. Teachers are very hard working and dedicated. But students often complain about the lack of quality teaching as most of them don't follow what is being taught. Students having attendance as low as 10-20% generally don't face any problem. Institute gives a lot of free time which proves as a catalyst for those who want to prepare for entrance exams like GATE, CAT, GRE and many more. The placement scene has improved a lot in recent years.Average package is 4 Lakh per annum and highest is something around 6 Lakh per annum.

NPTI is a nice college for B.tech students. It also runs several other courses on a yearly and monthly basis like PGDC, t&d, PDC. Placement is really good for all the streams. Many renowned and also some new companies come to recruit engineers and most of them are placed on an average income of 4.5 lac yearly. So for placement NPTI is really good. Running a single branch (power engineering) campus is small, no doubt. Classrooms are simple non A.C.Canteen itself is not present on the college campus but being present in NTPC premises student can go in NTPC canteen and it is cheap and worthy. College campus is equipped with good internet connection. The faculty is average as most of them are guest faculties from other college but the student is given enough time so that they can do preparation themselves. Fest is organised every year by students for two days 1 day in college campus itself and another day in Delhi haat which is nice. The hostel is average. The student has to share a room (2 people ) per room. The mess is present for the student. The quality of food is average like all the other mess. Internet facility is provided in the hostel for the students.Hostel Infrastructure is also dull. Some student chapters are present in colleges in which student can participate actively in various workshops and projects guided by student chapters in charge and faculties. Being present in NTPC student can do training in NTPC by college recommendation.

NPTI offers B.tech. and other post graduate programmes in Power Engineering, a highly specialized stream. It had its good old days with 100% placements for continuous years. But, things began to flounder with the batch or 2012. Since then, it has been on a declining slope. Increased its intake from 60 to almost double, increased fee and other not so positive things. But, with power industry looking in a better shape, I am hopeful it will bounce back in near future.
