Don't go for the general MBA being offered at UPES, if you're planning for a particular specialization then it's better to take up the relevant course from the start. If you opt for general MBA, you'll be taught common subjets for the first year & asked what you want to major in in final year and will be taught those for an year. On the other hand, if you opt for MBA International Business or Logistics & Supply Chain Management, you'll be taught subjects concerning that specialization from semester one which would be a much better choice i believe. And if you do go for International Business, go for IBS rather then UPES, IB at UPES isn't very well established as of now in terms of summer internships as well as placements.

You can see easily in the website about placement i.e. it has crossed 73% in UPES for B.tech.

But for detailed placement, Computer Science branches have been placed almost i.e. there are around 400 students in CSE and most are placed. For Petroleum Branches, APE-upstream has been fully placed. Fire and Safety has left with 3 persons unplaced and I think they will also be placed within 1–2week. Other branches has also having an average placement. For Management and Law courses, placements are good as the college has good links and many alumni are working in good and reputed firms.

UPES is basically popular for its petroleum related courses in engineering so the best course in UPES is petroleum engineering which has quite good placement, and obviously the master course is always on the top in comparison of bachelor course in terms of placement, Mtech and MBA courses are again good courses in UPES in terms of placement.

The best course at UPES Dehradun is Applied petroleum engineering with specialisations in upstream. In case of MBA, the average package goes up-to 4.5 lakhs followed by 4 lakhs for engineering and architecture. Various courses offered are B. E/B.Tech, M. E/M.Tech, MBA, BA, BBA, M. Sc, etc. The ownership of the institute is private.

According to the official website the School of Law Placement percentage for UPES University, Dehradun was around 86%. 210+ recruiters had participated in the placements; which include Pramata, Factum Legal, Eaton, HCL, Sterlite Power etc. Average package touches around 3.5-6 lakhs per annum.

Merit Based Scholarship

Scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 80% marks in class X & XII & 80% marks in PCM for B.Tech (All Streams) in CBSE/ ICSE / State Examination Board. Such scholarships will be limited to 10% of seats in each B.Tech Program. Scholarships will be allotted for the first Semester in Merit order to eligible candidates.

Scholarships will be awarded based on merit only.

Continuation of Scholarship in the subsequent years will be as per the University policy Scholarship Amount

50% on Tuition fee of first Semester

Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers:

Merit order allotment of 1 seat per program.

The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand resident students.

Should have “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” (Permanent Residence Certificate)

Students will be entitled only for 1 scholarship at a time (either through Uttarakhand Board Toppers or through Uttarakhand Resident category)

Upes law has 86% placement record last year. 210+ companies come and the 140+ students are placed . If you are a average student and maintain your SGPA 7.5 then you can grab a package of 8 Lacs, and highest package can go to 12-13 Lacs.

And if we talk about lowest it can be 2-3 lacs.

Hello,

the application for for UPES is 1350 Indian Currency and 75 USD for foriegners. There are total 8 departments which offers over 142 courses for admission. Last Date  for Btech applicants is 3rd May.

As said by the officials , there is 94% success placement rate of the college. It has good ranking and affilated to many organizations like NAAC,UGC,etc.  The college crowd is also good and facilities provided is also friendly and will help you anywhere you get stuck in your studies.
