Academics
Most teachers here are qualified enough and helpful. But some teachers lack teaching skills. Quality of teaching is above average. The curriculum is good, and they keep updating the syllabus according to the market and job requirements in the industry. The semester exams are based on the topics and syllabus taught by teachers, so it's not very difficult to score if you learn the notes given by teachers.
College Infra
The labs are very good and well-equipped with Wi-Fi and other facilities needed for students to learn. There are many labs in the CSE Department itself, and on every floor, there are 2 to 3 labs equipped with AC. Most classrooms have a projector or smartboard and have comfortable benches, and they're not congested at all. The hostel rooms are average in size,
Placements
Around 80 to 90 percent of students were placed in college. The highest package for 2025 batch was 12.88 LPA, while the average was 9 LPA. For 2026 batch, the average package was 34 LPA. The highest package was offered to the student of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering branch offered by VISA. The average package for CSE is above 10 LPA. Teachers at Siddaganga Institute of Technology are generally well-qualified, approachable, and supportive. Many professors have industry experience and higher academic degrees, which is reflected in the way they teach. They are open to student queries and conduct regular mentoring sessions. The curriculum is updated regularly to align with current industry standards, including electives in trending domains like AI, ML, and Data Science.
College Infra
Our department had well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, and 24/7 Wi-Fi. The library is extensive and digital resources are also accessible. Hostels are clean and well-maintained, with regular mess food, basic medical facilities, and good sports infrastructure including a gym, basketball, and cricket grounds.
Placements
I graduated in 2025 from the Electrical & Electrical Engineering (EEE) branch. Around 85-90% of students from our batch were placed. The highest package offered is around 25 LPA (by Adobe), the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is 6.5 LPA. Top recruiters included Infosys, TCS, Cisco, Accenture, Wipro, and EY. Nearly 70% of students got internships, mostly through college drives, at companies like Bosch, Deloitte, and TCS. Common roles offered are software developed, analyst, QA engineer, and associate consultant.

Faculty members are good. They are often knowledgeable, experienced, and helpful to students inside and outside the classroom. A strong industry-ready curriculum typically includes practical components like internship projects, current tools, and technologies along with soft skills and aptitude training.
College Infra
Our department is well-equipped with modern infrastructure both academic and practical applications, etc. Laboratories are equipped with the latest tools, good hardware equipment, and classrooms are equipped with projectors and Wi-Fi. Hostels are well-maintained, with 24X7 electricity backup. The canteen provides snacks and food at an affordable price.
Placements
80% of students got placed from our course. The average package is 3.5 LPA. The highest package is 25 LPA. Recruiting companies are TCS, Accenture, LG, etc. 50% to 60% students have internships with stipend. Roles are offered like stack development and other IT sectors

With a COMEDK rank of 23,000, getting ECE at SIT Tumkur is not possible—last year's cutoff was around 16,800, and this year it's expected to be around 11,000.
You can try for other branches like EEE or Mechanical at SIT or look at other colleges with higher cutoffs.
