If a report submitted by Director of Medical Education M Raghavendra Rao to the State government is to be believed, then the number of PG seats available may be doubled this year in the Government-run colleges due to severe shortage of specialist doctors in Andhra Pradesh.

At present, the government medical colleges have a total of 1,008 PG seats in all specialties. The Department of Medical Education may add a total of 939 seats to the colleges in Guntur, Nellore, Ongole, Kakinada and Srikakulam.

The data presented by the Minister revealed that Andhra Pradesh has a total number of 2371 post-graduation medical seats in all specialties. Among these, 1065 seats belong to the Government medical colleges and 1306 seats belong to private institutes.

And in Telangana there are 729 post graduation medical seats available in 2021.

Firstly the eligibility criteria of master's degree in all the aforementioned subjects such as political science/economics/sociology/public administration isn't same for all universities and by this what I mean is some universities do emphasis on having the specific subject studied at graduation level whether as hons or at least as one of the subject in graduation, for example BHU is one such university which do put emphasis on such conditions, on other hand JNU, Delhi offers MA in PISM/IRAM for which candidates from any discipline with 50% aggregate from a recognized university are eligible to apply, generally speaking in case of pg for sociology, public administration candidates from any discipline  of graduation from a recognized university with the required aggregate (that vary depending upon the norms of the colleges) can apply however in case of MA Economics in majority cases it would be mandatory to either have Economics Hons at ug level or have studied it as a subject, you can go through the following pages to get an idea for the same
