I have the privilege of being the First Batch Student of VGSOM. I will always vouch for excellent faculty & infrastructure. After passing out from VGSOM, I had worked at Senior Management levels with large multinational companies. I strongly recommend MBA aspirants to select this institute as ROI is very good! I could see great placements of last year students. VGSOM had achieved 100% placement during this year which is significant mile stone for a management institute. I had specialized with Marketing. They have very good faculty for Finance, Operations, Production. They also regularly invite Senior Managers from large companies as Guest Faculty to share real life scenario with the students. I could see significant improvement in interaction with Industry during recent years. Projects, quizzes and assignments are integral part of the evaluation process. During the first year, all subjects are compulsory and are spread across all domains like marketing, finance, operations, consulting and HR. In second year, students are given the freedom to pick electives of their interests. Case discussions and video clips are also used for teaching. Inclusion of projects and assignments is strictly followed by each professor in his respective subject. Students get a basket of choices for specialization in their second years and the courses are relevant to the changing and demanding industry standards. Professors mostly follow case based teaching methods and help students in approaching solutions the practical way. Infrastructures like library, IT network are excellent. Students have access to Central Library of IIT. Hostel facilities are also very good & students have access to several activities like swimming pool/Gymnasium. NIRF had ranked "7" during 2017.I am sure VGSOM will move upwards within top 5 in next few years. They have every potential to improve further & become world class management institute.

One of the best B-school of Eastern India

The best part of VGSOM is its ROI and placements. The campus is huge sprawling over 2100 acres, but it is shared with the IITians. The hostels are quite old but the VGSOM building is new and it stands out from the rest of the buildings on the campus. The hostel rooms have internet connectivity but you have to pay for using it although the charges are nominal. The canteen is okay, not something to boast about.The course here is only for engineers and hence it is specially designed for them. The faculty is highly qualified and very impressive. Some of them have up to 25 years of experience in the industry.The life is very hectic here and if you manage to find some time there are many clubs and activities on campus to keep you busy. The students take part in the IIT KGP festival as well, which is a very reputed festival of national level.There are regular guest lectures by very renowned personalities.The course is more suitable for engineers and also designed in such a way. IIT KGP being the oldest one in the country it lends its reputation to the management department too.

Good for consulting,operations and general management roles

ROI of this college is very good for which one can prefer this college to other colleges present in the same league. Faculties are average.Real knowledge comes from peer learning and self-study. One can get good industry exposure by working in live projects offered to the students. Choose this college if you are interested in consulting,operations and general management roles. Marketing and Finance roles also get offered but the quantity is limited.Campus life is great.Here you will succeed in proportion to the effort you put for achieving your goals. There will be students telling that this college is not good enough but I am telling from my personal experience that I did not see any classmate who put efforts and didn't get rewarded in proportion to that.

Great place to learn the ins and outs of MBA. The students here are excellent, given the fact that most of them are from prominent universities like NITs, BITS, Jadavpur University, so one of the brightest minds of India come here to pursue management studies. The college infrastructure is excellent, with computers in laboratories equipped with all the latest software and management tools. One does not need to worry about placements as almost the entire batch is placed within a period of the week during the final placements.

An experience to cherish

This college has pretty good infrastructure including free and fast LAN connections. But the hostel facilities provided are not up to the mark. The rooms provided are small and are not maintained. The placements are pretty decent but has one major problem. Most of the visiting companies are IT firms and offer similar profiles.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about the college. Having never heard of VFSoM as an elite institute and having aspirations to be among the top IIM, I was never sure about VGSoM. Now having been at VGSoM at last, I am more confident about the college. For infrastructure, the institute building looks a miniature model at first, but after spending some time here it seems adequate. The college has dedicated placement and corporate committees that are responsible for corporate exposure. Interaction with students of almost 50 different departments has made my life enjoyable. I am still awaiting any placement offer. We have various facilities at our hostel like the high-speed uncapped internet, washing machines, laundry and much more. We have some exceptional professors for business communication and organizational behavior. Being IIT and having 50 different departments, the crowd is quite diverse and happening. The college is one of the most affordable institutes for Management in India.

To be a part of VGSoM is to be an art of the 2500 acre IIT Kharagpur campus. the campus is huge with all the necessary infrastructure facilities of various types. It has a state of the sports, auditorium and hospital facilities. The central library of IIT Kharagpur is one of its kind with a vast variety of books and subscriptions which are available online and offline. The campus is fully WiFi enables, with 24*7 access to internet facilities. VGSoM can be considered as one of the departments of IIT Kharagpur as many facilities of IIT is shared. The college building has fully air-conditioned classrooms. The classrooms are old and need some renovation. The college life one of the best compared to the MBA colleges in India. The college boasts one of the best placements in the country for MBA students and the growth in placements has been phenomenal from last few years. The hostel facilities are average, first-year students have 2 sharing rooms and second-year students get single rooms. The mess food is not that great, however, there are many canteens around the campus which can provide good quality food at affordable prices. The faculty of the college can be rated above average. Although the faculties are not as qualified as IIM faculties they try their best and think on innovative ways to coach the students. The gender diversity was not great for past few years but has been considerably improved for batch 2016-18. The college has a little location disadvantage for attracting guest faculties and placements. The overall fee including mess comes to 2 lakh per semester, a fairy on the lower side compared to IIMs. The management learning in the college is through peers and through activities of various clubs and committees.

The amazing and the largest campus of India just blew all our minds away. It was BEAUTIFUL. Lush, green, open. Pristine hostels, with superb amenities, a very amiable culture and no language barrier to my surprise. I had melded into the fabric of IIT Kharagpur and the entire city in a very short span of time! The people are rather welcoming. It is simply amazing! The brilliant arches, the brick red hostels, the cobbled pathways – it is just like a dream of a campus. The huge amphitheatre will surely remind you of the Colosseum of Rome! It is surely an attention grabber! Lots of activities are organised around on the campus that have so much to offer for us. Leveraging on the advantage of being one of the oldest IIT’s and its ties with a number of industrial organisations, the students were given an opportunity to visit some of the biggest industry names, to expose themselves to the facets of the corporate world. Also, people from corporates do visit the campus for guest lectures to guide us on this journey of MBA. Plethora of opportunities for students including several live projects, research papers, national level competitions and largest alumni base add to the overall exposure of students to the professional world. The classes incite the peak of our interests, and the faculties test the mettle of every single student during lectures. I feel privileged to be taught by few of the best faculties of our nation.
