As an affiliated college, Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and Technology (VCET) was founded in 2007 at Ibrahimpatnam, Telangana. VCET is spread over 13 acres and campus provides programmes in engineering and management disciplines. It is affiliated with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the total enrolment capacity of the institute is 750. VCET has a faculty of 130 to enable provision of a proper environment for the students. The college delivers twelve courses in 3 degree programmes for engineering and management study specialisation.

VCET has numerous infrastructures to facilitate its courses in place. The college library can be well described as the central point of all informational needs of a college and contains reference, periodical, and digital resources for readers and researchers. As for practical experience, VCET has a modern, equipped laboratory for every department. The independent hostels for boys and girls provide accommodation for out-station students away from home. Suhari arranged simple meals from a canteen on the compound and the health centre for first aid and medical help. It also focuses on physical health and provides sports amenities for the use of all students of the college. In order to compete effectively and keep with the ever-changing technological world, VCET has a strong IT platform. In addition, the college has transport facilities to travel several places in Hyderabad to add some comfort to the transportation requirements of going students. This is an Affiliated College of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

Consequently, VCET teaches twelve courses, namely full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The B.Tech programmes span across disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, computer science engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Data Science. At the postgraduate level, there are M.Tech programmes in Embedded Systems and Computer Science and Engineering and MBA programme are offered in the college. Overall, the university has approved an intake of 750 students, with course allocation varying from 30-120 student intake.

Admission in VCET, like any other institute in the state, is conducted in accordance with the policies and regulations provided by the SCHE of the Telangana government. For undergraduate engineering programmes admission is through the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test or TS EAMCET. The admission of engineering postgraduate courses is done through the Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET), whereas MBA courses admission is through the Telangana Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET) for its members.
