Hello student. Fee structure of iit Bombay is

Tuition fee is 2 lakhs per year, that is for 2 semester which includes hostel, mass and all others

This 2 lakhs includes all the fess like

Certification, I'd card ,tuition fees registration fees, medical, hostel rent, electricity charges, mess, accidental insurance , one time deposits like security of library, mess, institute and other charges

Rounded it is 2 lakhs

Just qualifying JEE Advance does not grantees A seat in IIT Bombay as the competition is very high therefore you need to get very good rank under 2000.

As far as scholarships are concerned the SC/ST students and students whose family income is less than 1 lakh are completely exempted from the tuition fee. There are scholarships on the basis on merit which is given to branch wise topper, and there is other McM scholarship which is given based on percentage as well as family income. There are special scholarships for SC/ST students.

IIT Bombay anyhow has got a great reputation already along with great placements so choosing this college is the best option if you get a chance here. As far as I know, the assistant work you do in TA and RA at IIT Bombay is more or less same. However, RAs have to do more work compared to TAs (and hence they have stipend around 9-10K as against 8K for TA). The real difference is in duration of course. M Tech with TA-ship is 2 year program while in RA-ship its 3 year. Hence, cut-offs of TA are higher than RA.

Kindly refer to the link below to know the cutoffs of the same at IIT Bombay college.

Hello Aspirant.

As you've mentioned that you belong to SC category. So for candidates belonging to SC category obtaining atleast 35% of total marks in JEE advanced would land you into IIT BOMBAY.

For sc candidate scoring 30% of total would give them admission into top IITs in good branches.

Best of luck

If you're asking if there's a CS branch in IIT Mumbai, then yes, there is. Otherwise I would like to make your question more clear.

Hello Aspirant,

Yes, to get admission in the IITs for the Mtech you have to go through the interview even if you are from SC. I hope this will solve your query.

Good Luck

Polytechnic is a technical course and it is also known as diploma in engineering.

It helps in getting a technical diploma degree. It is a three year course which makes the students familiar with the technical aspects of technology.

Various branches under which one can do polytechnic are:

  • Computer Science
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Automobile engineering
  • Electronics and communication Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

One can pursue polytechnic in whichever stream they desire.

Job opportunities after polytechnic:

Public Sector

The Government or their allied Public Sector Units offer great career opportunities to Polytechnic Diploma holders. These companies hire Diploma holders for junior level positions (for both engineering and non-engineering candidates) and technician level jobs.

you can get a job at:

  • Railways
  • Indian Army
  • GAIL – Gas Authority of India Limited
  • ONGC – Oil & Natural Gas Corporation
  • DRDO – Defence Research and Development Organization
  • BHEL – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited
  • NTPC – National Thermal Power Corporation
  • Public Work Departments
  • BSNL – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited
  • Irrigation Departments
  • Infrastructure Development Agencies
  • NSSO – National Sample Survey Organization

Similar to the public sector, even private sector companies, especially those dealing in manufacturing, construction and electronics and communication domains hire Polytechnic Diploma holders. However, these jobs are junior level and have very little scope of promotion or expansion.

private sectors hiring polytechnic degree holders

  • Airlines - Indigo, Spicejet, Jet Airways, etc.
  • Construction Firms – Unitech, DLF, Jaypee Associated, GMR Infra, Mitas, etc.
  • Communication Firms – Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Idea Cellular, etc.
  • Computer Engineering Firms – TCS, HCL, Wipro, Polaris, etc.
  • Automobiles – Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, TATA Motors, Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, etc.
  • Electrical / Power Firms – Tata Power, BSES, Seimens, L&T, etc.
  • Mechanical Engg Firms – Hindustan Unilever, ACC Ltd, Voltas, etc.

One can also go for further  higher education and do B.tech via lateral Entry Scheme.

here are few colleges that offer B.tech through Lateral entry scheme for degree holders.

Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana

DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar

Government College of Engineering, Pune

Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, Delhi

Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Noida

Delhi Technological University, Delhi

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala

Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Delhi

KIITS University, Odisha

Guru Gobind Singh IP University, Delhi

Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar

You can either go for job or continue with further education.

Advantages of Polytechnic:

  • It costs less in pursuing three years polytechnic course than to normal education.
  • If the student is unable to continue his education, then he can get into job and then pursue engineering on a part-time basis without causing financial burden on the family.

Hope this helps.

All the best!
