The registration fee for the course is Rs. 375/-. However, register before 16 August 2020 for Rs. 325/- only to avail an early bird registration discount. Please note that the registration fee once paid is neither refundable nor adjustable under any circumstances.

Anyone who has computer knowledge is familiar with the editing of text, possesses laptops, internet facility is eligible for the course.

Certification Qualification Details

Certification of completion of the LaTex for Students, Engineers, and Scientists course by IITBombayX Honor Code will only be issued if participants can successfully meet the criteria of the grading policy of the course. It is to be noted that no hard copy of the certificate will be available. Online certificates will be issued to the participants.

Installation- First step of the course will be to introduce the participants to LaTex and provide them with the information regarding its installation.
Dealing with mathematical formulae or equations- Basic equations are easily programmed in LaTex.
Organizing documents under appropriate headings and subheading- Throughout the course participants will be given an understanding of organizing their documents.
Formatting pages- Users will be able to use various features of formatting pages. They will be provided with options of using headers, footer to add footnotes, margins to make the boundaries proper having the same distance.
Bibliography and indexing- LaTex will help users put bibliography in the preferred style, for example, MLA format and more. There will be Automatic bibliography and index. formation
Include tables and images- LaTex will be granted the right to incorporate tables and photographs for improved presentation of the content. Tables can allow the details to be more descriptive and to the point where the readers will be able to grasp the data quickly.

Admission Details

The process of admission for LaTex for Students, Engineers, and Scientists classes will be held online. Online application forms will need to be filled by participants. No other mode of application will be accepted.

The interested participant will have to sign up on the website- https://www.it.iitb.ac.in/lakshya/signup.html with valid email id.
A verification mail will be sent to verify the account registered.
After successful verification, the applicant's account will be created.
The applicant is supposed to sign-in on the website mentioned above with the newly created account.
After signing in, the participant will then have to select the Announcement option. It will be followed by selecting the course LaTex for Students, Engineers, and Scientists.
He will then be led to the registration form. After correctly filling the required information, the participant will need to submit the form and register.
The filling of the registration will be followed by online payment.
After successful registration, the participant will receive an automated mail confirming his registration on the registered email id.
The participant will then be able to find his name on the "List of Participants page".
At last, the participant will have to register on IITBombayX site (https://courses.iitbombayx.in/register) with the registered email id to get access to the course syllabus or content.

2: Do I need to sign up for the LaTex for Students, Engineers, and Scientists online course by IIT Bombay?

3: Am I eligible to apply for the course, even though I am not a student or have high qualifications?

Anybody who has a basic knowledge of computer and text editing skills is eligible for this course.

4: Will I be able to edit my profile?

Yes. Applicants will be able to have access to edit their profile regarding contact information and more.

5: Why am I unable to receive the automated verification email from IIT Bombay?

Applicants are required to check their spam mails if they are not able to find the mail in their inbox. Sometimes it may happen that the applicant had provided incorrect email id.

6: Can I pay in offline mode?

No offline payment facility is provided. Payment needs to be strictly done in online mode.

7: Will there be any concession in the fee?

The course fee is deliberately kept nominal so that learners can afford it. Therefore, no further concessions will be provided.

8: Is the registration fee refundable?

No. once you are done with the payment, the registration fee will not be refunded except genuine circumstances, for example, double transaction cases.

9: Can I pay in instalments?

No. applicants will have to pay the total amount at once. After successful payment, the registration will be completed.
