Hello Aspirant,
Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), formerly the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT), is a public deemed university specialized in chemical technology located in Mumbai, India. ICT Mumbai was uplifted with the support by multiple industries and philanthropists over the decades. The institute has received grade ‘A++' accreditation in 2017 from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and National Board of Accreditation.
The institute has campuses at Marathwada and Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Hence, ICT Jalna is the main campus belonging to ICT headquarters at Mumbai.
1. ICT Mumbai-IOC Bhubaneswar Campus
It is in collaboration with IOCL and Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP) and is operating in IIT Kharagpur extension center. Students have done internships in IOCL at different plants and other similar industries. But there are no small-scale basic industries for first experience.
2. ICT Mumbai Marathwada Campus Jalna
It is funded by Govt. of Maharashtra and is operating from a temporary campus. It has been allocated 203 acres of area for permanent campus and also government has approved fund of Rs.397 crores. Here students have done internships at various industries like steel, cotton, food, pharmaceuticals, polymers and many more. Some of them are small scale and some of them very large. To have good practical knowledge and experience, one has to start from basic industries/companies as in first internship we will be just 12+ student. And as we get more and more experience, we can approach big industries.
Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask more questions.
Have a good day!!
In case you are interested in pursuing Chemical Technology, ICT is one of the best institutes all over India, with good infrastructure, faculty and research facilities at par with eminent Chemical Engineering Departments in institutes like IIT Bombay.
I believe at a percentile score of 98 in MHT CET 2020, you have fair chances in securing a Seat at ICT Mumbai, by last round of Counselling. Do keep an eye on the Counselling Procedure and Dates. For more information and college prediction do follow the link below
Dear Aspirant,
It is highly unlikely for you to get admission in ICT MUMBAI in any of its branches. It is because you have underperformed with respect to the cutoff ranks required by the institute for the candidates to secure. For the best branches of the Institute like Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy and Food Technology, candidates need to secure a JEE mains percentile of 98. For other branches, the cutoff percentile is close to 92-93. As you are falling short of marks by some significant margin, therefore, it is highly unlikely for you to get admission there.
The only way that you can get admission in the Institute is by virtue of the reservation Category that you belong to which is Other Backward Caste. Still you need a very good quota rank and also depends on the number of OBCs seats available in the institute for a particular branch.
Furthermore, your percentile in MHT CET is also low as the institute demands an MHT CET percentile of atleast 85.

I'm giving you a overview read well and decide which one will be best for you.
ICT chemical technology:
Placements: The college offers good opportunities when it comes to placements. It is one of the best colleges in India for Chemical Engineering. The average placement of this college is around Rs. 5,75,000 per annum. The highest placement goes around till 18,00,000 and sometimes above. Only chemical engineering companies are allowed to recruit students from our college. The top companies are Exxon, Dairy, Dr. Reddy, alkylamines etc. You need to inform the placement cell in 3rd year whether you will sit for the placements or you will go abroad for higher studies.
Infrastructure: This is a government college and the infrastructure is way good of what you expect from a government college in India. The classrooms are spacious and cleanliness is the priority for the college. The labs are great, clean. The library has a lot of books on different topics to which you can refer and learn. The hostel facility is good for the second year students as the rooms are slight bigger and better for them in comparison to the first year students. The canteen provides good quality food. There is a futsal court, basketball court and the campus is of 16 acres.
Faculty: The teachers are definitely very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are very kind in nature. The teaching quality is way better than many other colleges in India. Almost all the teachers have done their Ph.D. The student teacher ratio is 15:1. The course is definitely relevant for the students. It makes them ready for the industry.
chemical engineering in LIT :
Placements: Almost all of the eligible students (criteria remains like more than 60% in each sem) get placed in Chemical Engineering branch. The highest package is more than 15 LPA (PSU), the lowest around 3 LPA, average 4 LPA. Top recruitment companies: Honeywell, Sudarshan, Praj, Reliance, Adani, HPCL, Galaxy Surfactant. Almost all students got internships in chemical industries. Roles offered were mostly chemical engineer or sales related.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of the college have never been its distinctive point. The college has improved a lot in terms of infrastructure like labs, library, classrooms. Open Wi-Fi was not available until 2017. Quality of food, medical is not so good but it's manageable. Sports and games are mostly students oriented where students take up responsibilities and then they have the freedom to organise the best they can.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, experienced, knowledgeable and very helpful. They themselves are the consultants for other industries which helps students for great exposure and learning opportunity. Course curriculum theory wise is very deep being a technology-oriented. It contains a lot of practicals as well. So in all, it makes the students industry ready.
I hope this helps. Thank you!

Hi there,
SVNIT does not enjoy a great computer engineering reputation, but the placements are good with companies like Samsung visiting each year and microsoft and apple occasionally. DAIICT also has a great reputation but remember the ICT course isn't a pure computer science course. So it will depend on your interest.
Just for the record (Being to both the campuses) infrastructure wise DAIICT is better but SVNIT is getting there with lots of renovation done in last two year. Professors wise DAIICT has a good professor base compared to computer science department of SVNIT. Location wise SVNIT is in upper hand as it is in the heart of the city. Placement wise the scenario is slightly better in SVNIT. Considering these factors please take the informed decision and the best advice will be given by the current seniors so contact them.
