Hello Aspirant,
According to your percentile your approximate rank would be near around 42,000-45, 000 and on the basis of this rank it is little bit hard to get Mechanical branch in NIT Durgapur but as you belongs to OBC and you are female so there are high chances that you might get seat in your required branch which is Mechanical. Note that the above prediction is made according to previous year's cut-off because this year's cut-off has not been released yet and cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.
You can check previous years cut-off from the link given below :-
I would recommend you to use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your college and branch more precisely, link for the sam is given below :-

I hope this information cleared your doubts.
Good Luck!!
Hi aspirant,
WBJEE is conducted for admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self-Financed Institutes in the state of West Bengal. But NIT Durgapur and IIEST shibpur do not come under WBJEE. Hence you cannot get admission in NIT Durgapur and IIEST shibpur based on WBJEE score.
If you want to get admission in NIT Durgapur and IIEST shibpur you will have to write JEE Main and then qualify it. You have to satisfy certain eligibility criteria also. Then the admission process takes place through JoSAA counselling. There is also special round of seats remain vacant.
Hope you understand and wish you all the best.
Hi Pankaj,
NIT Durgapur and Jadavpur University both of then are outstanding colleges and holds almost similar features.
CSE is one of the most sought after branch of engineering. Both of them offers nice curriculum and placement in CSE but comparatively CSE at Jadavpur University is better. Jadavpur University is known for its CSE department. The Institute fee and hostel fee is very much lesser in Jadavpur University. It is 1200 per semester in Jadavpur University and 75000 per semester in NIT Durgapur. Besides there are other factors aa well you can opt as per your convenience.
Now comparing ECE and IT at Jadavpur University. Both of them are good branches and have numerous scopes in them. The placement is same in Jadavpur University. But compared to ECE IT has ample amount of opportunities and it is increasing.
Hope it helps you.
Yes, hostel is compulsory for all students in NIT Durgapur. However, if you are a local resident or facing health issues, then special permission can be provided for you to stay at home.
"National Institute of Technology, Durgapur (an autonomous institute of National Importance under MHRD, Govt. of India) is a fully residential institute. Hence, all students are required to stay, if not permitted otherwise, in the hostels of the institute. The rules and guidelines for management of the halls of residence have been framed for smooth functioning of the institute "

The campus boasts modern infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories, smart classrooms, and a comprehensive library stocked with the latest resources. High-speed Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the campus, facilitating seamless online learning. Hostel facilities are commendable, offering clean rooms and hygienic food. Sports complexes and recreational areas are well-maintained, promoting a balanced student life.
NIT Durgapur has some very old buildings, but the newly formed Academic block, utkarsh bhawan is very good infrastructures. Library also good. Senior hostels are little bit less maintained, but hostels for 1st year and 2nd years are good.
Not par with the NIT standard. Sports could be better, lots of unutilized area in campus. Academics is good, most professors are interactive. Good club culture, allows student to learn outside of academics.
