      College Infrastructure

Srm is one of the best colleges in Chennai and has one of the largest campuses as well. The classrooms are spacious and well planned. We have smart boards and a router for every class. The laboratories are good and have good equipment.Students can pursue various sports and there are good facilities for the same. The hostels are good and air conditioned hostels are there too.Hostel food is fine, not much of variety.

      Academics

Im pursuing a btech in electronics and communication engineering with a specialization in instrumentation engineering. The quality of teaching is good and the faculty have enough experience and are approachable. The curriculum is good and was recently updated.New specializations are being added time to time.

      Placements

Placements are very good and the college has a high and good placement record. The average salary offered is around 4.5LPA.The placement process is easy and smoothly conducted. The cdc cell helps prepare students for placements. Many core companies like johnson controls, honeywell etc come for recruitment.

      Value for Money

My course costs around 3.5 lakhs per year.I feel that i'm getting my money's worth because the college gives us a lot of oppurtunities to excel. It completely depends on the students on how he/she uses the oppurtunities given.

      Campus Life

Camous life is very good.We habe a large food court called Java.Students can enroll in clubs based on their interests. The location is quite safe and is well connected to the city. The teachers and support staff are good.

An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.

      College Infrastructure

The 250-acre campus at Kattankulathur, near Chennai, is well landscaped with ample greenery - and is connected by road and rail. The 43 lakh sq ft built-up area comprises state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities. The campus is equipped with all the latest facilities such as Video-conferencing, Wireless-enabled lab and campus Central Library with vast knowledge resources, printed and electronic high capacity 32 Mbps Internet Connectivity through multiple fibre links.

      Academics

I am a student in the Mechanical Department and I think that the quality of teaching in the Mechanical department is good if not excellent. Though some advances can be made in the Theoretical and Practical aspect of the courses.

      Placements

Placements: The placements offered by SRM IST are good. They make sure that a lot of companies come for recruitment. Most of the students are placed in IT companies like Infosys, Cognizant, TCS etc. The average package for mass recruiters remains around 4 Lacs.

      Value for Money

The Course cost in SRM IST is pretty high especially when you don't manage to get a rank under 15,000 as the cost of tuition fees increases drastically after that mark. And no sometimes you don't feel getting your money's worth because of the unreasonable attitude or the irrational checking of the faculty.

      Campus Life

All activity related to extracurricular programs, forums, clubs, community service, and entrepreneurship cell and students council is managed by the student affairs department. Counsellors are available to guide students and share personal issues. From entertainment to extra-curricular or even religious pursuits, there's never a dull moment on campus. It's a 'mini India' out here at the SRM university campus - with students from all over India and other parts of the world.

      Good enough

      College Infrastructure

The labs for the first year are really good , but second or third or even the fourth year lab is really dated , u can see that for yourself as there are many machines that are not used now a days in the industry but are still in the practicals it's not that the modern ones are not there but u will find it difficult as the operators won't allow u to use them

      Academics

In terms of academic performance and all some facultys are really interested in making students learn and on the other hand their are teachers who don't even care, u could just watch a whole movie while class is going on

      Placements

Regarding placements from the things I have seen I can say well most of the people get places but only a few get into the companies that they are studying for 4 years, in other words getting into core companies on any fields are tough in srm

      Value for Money

My coarse cost around 2.5 lakhs per year and especially 1 .1 lakh for the hostel and around 3 to 4 thousand monthly allowance ,well u can save on the monthly bill as it all boils down to one's choice of lifestyle

      Campus Life

Campus life is overall pleasant, nothing too good not too bad, u can get all types of food u want to eat ,worst part don't go overboard as its not your place try to act kind trust me or else u will regret

      Others

The collage is fine given the overall environment of any other private universities ,but if u really want to do something forget getting a good knowledge from the faculty instead study yourself or get help from senior year students

      Placements

60 percent of college placement....... I have not applied for placement yet................. ................................... .. Yes the college is supportive in terms of placement...... Average salary was 2-3 lakhs

      Value for Money

The course was really expensive...... Nah not worth our money as much as we payed because the teaching staffs are about ...... And not really supportive in terms of problems faced by students.... They ignore the problems

      Campus Life

The college campus is beautiful..... The best feature of the college are the plants and trees how they are well maintained all over the campus.... ... The location of the campus is safe but not really good in terms of handling emergency

Have a question related to SRM University Chennai ?

      Hello,

If I were choosing between these colleges, I would generally prefer MIT Manipal, LNMIIT, SRM KTR, and JIIT before SOA.

That doesn't mean SOA is a bad college. In fact, it's a decent option with good infrastructure and placements, especially for CSE-related branches. But when compared to MIT, LNMIIT,

if i get 75-80 in ap eamcet and on 12th may afternoon shift and my ipe marks are 582/600 how can i expect my rank and can i hope for vit ap or srm ap cse ai ml i am a bcb girl student

      Hi,

With 75–80 marks in AP EAMCET and 582/600 in IPE (around 97%) , you have a strong board score, which will help in the rank calculation.

Based on recent trends, you can roughly expect a rank somewhere in the range of 8,000–15,000 , though normalization and your specific shift

      Hello Dear Student,
If the choice is PES University CSE vs SRM KTR ECE , then PES University CSE is generally the better option for career prospects.
