One of the best points about this college is its infrastructure. The teaching complex are quite well equipped with all the required facilities. Spacious airy lecture halls, auditoriums, and a hella big library. First time, it took me a whole hour just to take a single round of the library. Some of the hostels are quite old, especially boys hostel B and C. But they keep them maintained. Some new hostels are under construction too.
Right now I'm a student of Electronics and Computer Engineering; almost completed my first year. Academic facilities here are quite good. Though honestly my first year profs were not as good. Some are really good and passionate about their work. Others just read the slides and go. Though most of them are quite supportive to students. Even if sometimes they don't teach well, they'd make sure to do all what they can to help you understand.
As a first year student, I don't have much exposure to the placement related information. But as to what I've heard from seniors, alumni; and according to what I read from college handouts, placements here are quite good, much better than many colleges. The best branches placement wise are Computer Science and Computer Engineering (yes they are different things here fyi), followed by electronics and computer and Electronics and communication. Other than these, placements in mechanical are okay.
The one thing that may be considered as a negative point about this college are its expenses. The fee compared to other colleges is very high. Combining the additional expenses of hostel and mess fee, it sums up to a big amount of near 20 Lakhs. Is it worth it? DEPENDS ON YOU. There'd be many opportunities; but if you miss them, you'd probably be left with all negative thoughts about the college, and you'd probably be grumbling about the money you spent.
Campus Life is wonderful here. The campus is really big and lush green. Places like COS complex, open air theater are popular hangout spots for students. There are many lawns and parks everywhere to roam in. The atmosphere is really good. Environment is also clean. The biggest support here are the seniors. I joined a few societies and through that I got in touch with some seniors and they are really helpful many times. There's a dispensary and ambulance facility too in case of emergencies.
Overall, it's a very good college with a lot of opportunities for you as a student. You just need to be ready to grab them in time, so you won't have to regret later.
The college has great infrastructure than any other colleges in any India. It has well equipped labs for all different subjects. The lectures take place through digital media which are well maintained. The newly built hostels are very good with state of the art facilities.
The curriculum is updated and includes both practical and theoretical knowledge. There are a certain subjects which focus on personality development makes you ready for the corporate world. We also have a few online exams and most of the administration work of college takes place online. Students also have access to online lectures and quizzes provided by college.
The college has very good placement record over the years. Students who work hard moderately get a good placement. Some students get a very good package while others settle on decent ones. There are many MNC's like Microsoft, google, amazon, delloite vista campus every year and provide the dream package to students.
Infrastructure is great.New buildings have come up recently and it looks like an altogether different University. The new library is great. The integration of technology into the old library culture has taken the whole process to the next level.
Some faculties are great some are ok.Mostly it depends on the students effort. The course scheme is at par with all the top colleges. The teaching techniques are also good. For my branch i feel everything is almost ok.
The placements are good. Most of the students with good academic and CV get placed just fine.Although i have heard that some companies don't come.Off campus placement is always there though. The placement cell is very helpful and make you well aware and preapes you for it.
It is an expensive affair.
Campus life is great.Events keep taking place all year round.
Its fees is high but everything else is good.
Being a private college, they have invested heavily on infrastructure. The Lecture Halls are world-class and also air-conditioned. The new hostels are almost like studio apartments with prefurnished rooms. You can easily access Wifi from anywhere in the campus.
The environment for academics is really poor as the student crowd is not really academically orientated. However, there are many technical clubs and you can learn a lot from your friends, seniors and professors if you are in the right friend circle.
If you are from Computer Science or Electronics departments, they are ample amount of companies who come for placements. The average salary for these two departments lie within the range of 6.5-7 lacs. The placement rate is 97% in CS and 85% in Electronics. The process is supposedly easy and the institute is supportive.
It costs almost 2.5 lacs per semester including hostel and mess fees. So given the quality of education, I definately feel it isn't worth the money. I have acquired a scholarship which reduces my academic fee by 50% per year.
It is a lush green campus spread over 300 acres. You have a world class sports and education complex and there canteens are spread across the campus which serve delicious food. The hostels are managed by Sodexo so the food is good and hygienic. There are many student clubs catering to your interests ranging from coding to dramatics. The student population in general is more culturally inclined and the technical culture is pretty weak. It is located in the heart of Patiala and very safe for girls.
yes it all basic facility like WiFi ac in class room cafetiere and lab are well maintained tools and equipment are also in working condition the living place provided in the college is nice clean hygienic and green it is Eco friendly campes
i am pursing my BE in cs i love and want to do develop my on AI For a smart future Teacher is our college are helpful and knowledgeable there is a doubt session for subjects every week there teaching quality is up to mark the regular workshops that take place make student industry ready and ready to face opportunities the course curriculum provided for the first year was little bit boring
branches like CSE,COE,COBS, ENC have amazing placement records in the past years almost 93% of the student oar placed by recruiting compiles top mnc comes to our university every year like amazon Microsoft and etc
so for me the total expanses would be between rs 22.00.000-24,00,000rs for 4 years of study if score good marks in examination and jee mains you may be eligible for the top students of each branch every year depend on your CGPA
th college life is truly great and i love to spend most time in college
The university campus is quite big. The University, though old, has a good infrastructure. It is maintained nicely. Facilities provided to the students are excellent. The library is well-stocked with books of various subject interests. The hostels are decent. The labs are so-so and not well-maintained. The wi-fi speed in hostels is fine.
I am pursuing b.tech in ECE from Thapar University. The academics are great. Faculty is very supportive and knowledgeable. There are always ready to take your doubts. though, The course curriculum for my stream in first year is a bit boring and focuses on Theory mainly. There are regular workshops organised by our college to get us acquainted with the industry environment.
The quality of placements is excellent here. There is a lot of industrial exposure given to us. The highest package so far is 41 LPA. There are many product based companies visiting the campus like Google, Infosys. A lot of Startups also visit the campus for placements. The average package is about 5 LPA for ECE.
The Total fee costs about 5,00,000 per annum (including hostel, mess and other expenses too). Now, this is the area where Thapar Lacks. The fee is very high. The facilities are great but No, I don't feel I am getting my money's worth completely.
if you get admitted in this college, One thing is for sure, you will enjoy your 4 years of college life. There are a number of events happening in the campus one day or the other. There are so many events organised in the college that eventually, I feel it somewhat hampers your Studies. There are many fun activities to do in the college. overall, The college life is very happening.
My experience in this college so far has been very good. If you are not getting any government college and you can afford the fee, then this is a good college for you. Thapar is definitely better than other private college with same fee structure such as SRM, Manipal, VIT etc.
The infrastructure of the college is one of the best thing according to me. The library and the high tech latest classroom designs are very good for studying. As far as hostel and other facilities are concerned, they are well maintained and getting better day by day.
I'm pursuing BE in mechanical engineering because the area of design and innovation interests me. The quality of education and teaching is well maintained with focussed and hard working faculty and staff. Personal I like the curriculum of mechanical engineering because it is not just limited to academics, we have a project activity related to our field each semester also.
The quality of placements has been good so far. The highest package which I know was offered of around 39 LPA to a computer science student. I can't comment on the placement process as I have never been in one.
Thapar has one of the best campus life a student can have. We have multiple (around 40-50) societies both of cultural and technical areas giving us the right opportunity and exposure to the outside world. Other than societies we have almost all sports facilities with well maintained fields.
The New LT Complex with the library makes the infrastructure of the college stand apart from all other colleges in the country. The hostels are also being constructed with a global vision. Hostel M, N are few examples.
The professors experienced and quite learned. The CS and Mechanical department to be specific is believed to have the best faculty among other branches, so if you are a CS or MEE student, you are in great hands.
The computer science placements are outstanding whereas for other branches it is on a comparatively satisfactory level. Being an EIC Student, I am worried about the placements because of the increase in number of students every year.
Fees of this institution can be an issue to many. If you spend 20 Lakhs for 4 years on your education you expect a great return of investment, but I am sorry that is definitely not the case in the college.
The campus life is super happening that's for sure! For the freshmen, it is assured that by the end of your first semester you will curse the number of events happening in this college because they will eventually create an impact on your studies.
As far as I have experienced this college, I would say it is a great college if you do not make it to the top notch government institutions. Definitely better than other private institutions like VIT and Manipal.
You might say infrastructure is a bit lacking for those who have come for diploma and our study in polytechnic College but for the B.E section the college infrastructure is great..Thapar is developing better infrastructure than earlier.
The thing is placements in Thapar is really good and because of the better placements people care less about they what taught. The Students here tend to study on their own. Teachers are ready to help you if you want their help too...
For computer science and non tech students the placements are really good..But it's not the same scinerio for core branches other than computer. If you want placement in non core than it doesn't give us so much satisfaction..
Better than a many many colleges in India.
Ragging is not a thing here..
The college infrastructure is amazing and offers a lot of facilities . It has one of the largest libraries in Asia and also the lecture halls have all facilities including smart boards so that effective teaching can take place
I’m studying computer engineering in Thapar . I was always keen on learning computer subjects and had a lot of interest in operating systems and knowing the fact that my college offers one of the best computer engineering faculty , I knew this was the right stream for me . Yes , the curriculum is updated and ensures the students are well prepared as per the industry requirements
The placements are an amazing experience . There is a special placement cell that ensures that students are well prepared for the interviews . Moreover nearly 90-97 per cent of the students get placed . Also , the average package varies from 6-7 lac per annum
The course costs me about 3 lac per year . I’m quite convinced with the quality of education that is provided with my institute .
I have to say that the social life the college offers is one of the best . The various societies , the campus life , the events held in campus varying from cultural feats to food fests to coding competitions, it all makes life away from home much more bearable
Just an amazing experience to be a part of this college . The teachers are very supportive and you get an amazing chance to enjoy your college life

With a Class 12 board score of 86% in 2024, your son meets the board-based eligibility for B.Tech CSE at Thapar University—but there’s one important detail. Thapar conducts admissions via two modes: one uses JEE Main scores (50% seats) and the other uses Class 12 PCM marks (50% seats). However, for top branches like CSE, only JEE-qualified candidates are considered.
Admissions through Class 12 marks only apply to other branches—not CSE—since board-based seats in CSE are typically not offered anymore for 2025 onwards.
