Hey
Mechanical engineering is one of the traditional and broadest disciplines in engineering field. It involves the design, examination and manufacturing of various types of mechanical systems using the principles of physics and material sciences.
Metallurgy is a specialized field of physical sciences, which involves the study of physical and chemical features of metallic elements, their compositions and inter metallic compounds.
Talking about NIT Nagpur, placements for metallurgical students are decent whereasThe placements are good for the mechanical engineering department. About 95% of the students from this branch got placed. The highest package offered was 17.3 LPA, the average package offered was 6.57 LPA, and the minimum package offered was 3 LPA.
Placement at NIT Patna for mechanical branch last year, where 65% to 70% of the students got placed from our college. Almost 90% of students get placed every year, especially from the computer science branch. This year, the highest salary package offered was 10.50 LPA for the students of ME. The average salary package offered was 7.50 LPA. But some of the CSE students got really high salary packages last year and this year also.
The above given details are based on the review given by the passed out students from the respective colleges.
Overall you must decide which branch is suitable for you, if you worked hard for 4 years no matter which branch you belong to you will get achievement in future.
Hope this helps,
Good luck!
Hii Sakshi,
Coming to your answer see if you are not the branch specific and you want a good nit tag then I would personally recommend you to go for the nit Trichy production branch . As nit Trichy is one of the topmost college among the nit and it is ranked no 1 and getting a production also in it is not easy.
While if you are branch specific then o would like to recommend you to go for vnit Nagpur for the chemical engineering in it than at last the metallurgy in the nit surathkal, but in my opinion you should go for the nit Trichy as it is a very good college and has top rank among all nit ,then for vnit Nagpur and then for the nit surathkal.
Hope this helps you , feel free to ask if you had any doubt regarding this,
Good luck
dear candidate,
If you are passionate about Metallurgy then join TRICHY WARANGAL SURATHKAL.
If you are passionate about Chemical then join SURAT BHOPAL JAIPUR.
Assuming you are comparing the same Branches then this should be your preference among NITs:
TRICHY
WARANGAL
SURATHKAL
CALICUT
NAGPUR
ROURKELA
SURAT / BHOPAL / JAIPUR / ALLAHABAD / KURUKSHETRA

Well you have to see one thing that NIT Rourkela is a far better college than VNIT Nagpur. You may think that Nagpur is a big town but still placements there are not that great even when the rankings of college are so high so go for NIT Rourkela as infrastructure is also better there.
Well if you want to get admission in Btech program of Vishvesvaraya National Institute of Technology then you have to give more details because
Fees for SC/ST candidates is zero
Fees for candidates with income less than 1 lakh is zero
Fees for candidates with income between 1 and 5 lakh is about 25000 per sem
Fees for candidates with income more than 5 lakh is about 65000 per sem
Only mentioned tuition fees additionally mess and hostel fees have to be paid by everyone
Hi aspirant,
At this rank, you might won't get anything in NIT Nagpur, IIIT Nagpur, and IIIT Pune. You might get some other lower ranked colleges such as NIT Nagaland, Agartala, Manipur, etc. I would suggest you to apply for private colleges that accept JEE Main's rank such as Thapar, JIIT, etc. Below is the link for the list of top private colleges that accept JEE Main's rank.
All the best
Both of these colleges have a good reputation and provide great infrastructure and faculty. But, the courses you have mentioned are pretty different. Biotechnology is related to the technology used in enhancing medical and healthcare domain. Mining Engineering explores the technological domain of mining and innovations used in it. So, focus on what your interests and which syllabus will be better for you. However, NIT Warangal is better in rankings compared to NIT Nagpur. But, in the end your course will matter more because you will meet like-minded people in your course and your college life will be better.
Hello Sahil
According to ranking's NIT Warangal is good than Vnit Nagpur. But it's your choice the field in which you are interested not the college because both are NIT's and ranking doesn't matter in learning.
You are interested in programming then you can go for Vnit Nagpur and if you are interested in Electronics and Communication then you can go for Nit Warangal.
So I hope you find this helpful
Thank you
Good luck.
Before proceeding with my views on this query and first let me know some contradictory question to you.
What basis you’ve demarcating with VNIT and MNIT?
Every NIT’s has ,it’s own pros and con’s then “what you are looking for”?
Based on Ranking we can not culminate the which NIT’s is far better and which one is not because every NIT’s is famous for something?
IF I suggest you to chose VNIT, then can you?If I suggest to you to go with MNIT , then Are you ready land with MNIT campus?
If you found the answer of above four question then no need to go ahead with my views on this query.
But ,
If you do not know then,
Here is the best and possible way to opt :
Where you’re heart says which is better or not then go with that path because after invested such long time at Any NIT’s you shouldn’t feel guilty or grudges on your way of choice by reference of someone's experiences...

“Every NIT’s has produces the distinguishes NITian across the country but How you will come out of the national instutions, What you gonna do for the country or nation is makes you the differences from one NITian to another NITian”???
I hope it helps you .
Choices are yours and select which will bring you the comfortable life to enjoy the four years of wonderment engineering life and Make happy with yourself and your parents as well...
.
My personal experience:
I think i can answer this question by my personal experience, as i was in both college.
Initially i was in vnit nagpur for 3 weeks and then i was upgarded and shifted to mnit jaipur.
VNIT has beautiful campus, excellent food, cooperative administration, strict about classes but there is so much restrictions for first year students and you fail like jail there..
About placements i think both are about approximately same.
now you can decide on your own.
