College is good.it's fee is affordable. placement is not good in core branches but good in cse, ece,it. and very good in chemical engineering. I think mechanical engineering is also academically good. Girl: boy is 1:7or8 Ragging is not more . Seniors are very supportive. Faculties are good but you should study yourself Fee is not more.40000 per semester You will enjoy your college life.

I am pursuing my mechanical engineering from Haldia institute of technology,Haldia. You get admission through WBJEE or JEE or Management Quota. It is one of the premieres and the first private engineering college in West Bengal. The faculties are very good here. It has a very large campus with efficient equipment. It has a more than decent placement record. The seniors have been helping till now and so has been the teachers. Laboratories are well equipped. So far it has been very good. The only demerit is it is very far from Kolkata and communication is limited.

The college is the oldest private engineering college in West Bengal and usually ranks within the top 10 engineering colleges in the state (including all government & semi-government colleges) but most of the infrastructure now lies in an unutilized state. The is a lack of enthusiasm amongst most faculties over the administration lack of vision of improving the college's standard. This is again transmitted to their numerous students. The college does have a lot of intro college club specializing in automotive, robotics etc but they are mostly taken care by the students.

When I first got admission to this college I have given Balaji hostel my first thought and it was that where have I come but after living for sometime all my thoughts changed. You will experience a whole new experience. The campus is very large. The industry is all over chemical engineering branch and it has the best job then cs department is next which is a mass recruiter. There are lots of places to wander off nearby. As for RAGGING, it has almost ended. HIT Seniors are so helpful you can't imagine One of my experience was that when I was in 1st yr a senior ask for me I went with fear that I will be ragged but they offer me tea and samosa and ask about me and let me go HIT IS FULL OF SURPRISES

At first, I want to tell you that it is a myth that anybody who has heard about HIT heard about a very bad senior with a bad attitude but it is not true, seniors are very good and also very helpful. Next is about faculty, for electrical and electronic the overall faculty are very good at maths, also good, but for mechanics average. Next is about how is HIT and how is Haldiya, Answer is HIT IS VERY GOOD but Haldiya, is a place where if you want something very important you will not find it easily, you have to go to Kolkata which takes 4 hrs to reach. Next is there is no GATE coaching centre and about placement yes I have seen a lot of seniors who got placement mainly from IT and CS. Thank you
