I have scored 96.52 in CAT. How will be BiTS pilani?what are my chances in Nitie Mumbai and MDI? Do they have sectional cutoff?

Hi Rohit,

BITS Pilani, MDI Gurgaon and NITIE Mumbai...all of them are well-established management institutes.

BITS Pilani haven’t released the official cutoff for CAT 2017 yet. However, the selection or shortlisting is majorly based on the candidate’s CAT score + profile which includes academic performance and work experience. Candidates with a good profile who meet the CAT 2017 score criterion as decided by the institute, will be shortlisted for GD-PI rounds. The last date to apply at BITS is February 15, 2018.

MDI Gurgaon – The last year CAT cutoff was 94 percentile and it’s likely to stay more or less the same this year. So, there are chances that you might get a call from MDI for the admission process if you’ve applied for the institute. The official CAT cutoff will be updated at the link given below. Please check:

What is the cat cut off for nitie for obc category?

The cutoff for National institute of industrial engineering has not been declared yet but keeping in account the cutoffs of past years it will be around 75 percentile for obc category.

Getting into IIMs and other B- schools, a good percentile is what is needed that is given to you based on not just your score, but the scores of the other students taking up the exam. Your percentile depends upon the following factors:
*your score in comparison with - scores of the other students (how better are you as compared to them)
*difficulty level of the exam in that year
*your slot of exam (to certain extent)
*your sectional scores (in VA, DILR, QA)

With this let me bring to your notice that there have been cases wherein a student in one particular year with a score of 105-110 got 81 percentile but another student with the same range of score in the next year got 91 percentile. This variation is attributed to the difficulty level of the paper and performance of students in that level of difficulty.

Moreover, with your decent acads, an attempt of 60+ questions with 95% accuracy will fetch you 98+ percentile. A score of 180 at a moderate difficulty level of paper touches a percentile of 99. So a successful achievement of 99+ percentile might help you in cracking the calls of the creme B- schools ( provided you meet few of their other requirements too.)

Cut off various colleges were
Jbims- 134/200
Sydenham- 129/200
Welingkar- 124/200

Minimum 80percentile is must although cutoffs range every year as per rankings, on safer side you can expect to score 85+ for sureshot Admission at Nitie.

I want to know that how many days prior to the date of gd/pi will i get the call letter from NITIE if i applied for it through gate ?

Generally there is no fixed thing about this. However you can expect the details to be in after April 15, 2017 if you have applied currently as the application process is going on.

College Infrastructure

The institute provides good-maintained infrastructure, and high-speed Wi-Fi facility is available on the entire campus. Smart classes, air-conditioned lecture theaters, and equipped labs are included in the infrastructure. The hostel facilities are fine, and accommodation is done on a twin-sharing basis.

College Infrastructure

Rightly called as God's own Campus. Leopard visiting at night is quite often an adventure, but security is up there for any measures. Our own Pond and famous 96 stairs have there own stories. Lust green campus full which shines in monsoon. 16 storey boys hostel, highest among B schools. ALB block is full of facilities. Library with 60000+ books.

College infra is best in the india with all the amenities for the students .Hostel facilities also being provided by the management for the students . surrounding is filled with greenery and young minds .
