LIBA is an amazing place to do your PGDM. Life is truly beyond awesome if you study here. The faculty for the first years have a minimum 10 years of work- ex and teach us mostly by giving real time examples. The placement committee does a great job in getting all the students placed with an average salary of 9 lpa. The big companies that come to recruit are ITC, Britannia, Amazon, asian paints, crisil, lotte etc They make sure they select students from diverse cultures which makes every student learn something new from every other person.

B-school which have rigorous curriculum but enjoyable

Posted on 19 Sep' 16 by jhansi bonagiri
Batch of Jan. 1, 2015 | PGDM
I studied in the full-time PGDM batch of 2013-15. My experience of having been a student/ studied in LIBA is nothing short of wonderful. I would love to go there and live the life all over again - if I could. When I entered college, after a considerable amount of work ex (close to 3 yrs), I had my own panic as to whether I'll fit and whether I'd be able to take up the pressures of a b-school. But gradually, I eased in and discovered how fun a journey of 2 yrs could be. At LIBA, there's a good mix of students from all over the country, and there's plenty of opportunities to learn and enjoy learning at the same time. To start off, there's plenty of clubs such as Placements committee, 360 Degrees - The Student Affairs committee, LIBA Alumni committee, Finesse (Finance club), MarkIt (Marketing club), Le Vox Populi (HR club), E-cell (Entrepreneurship club) etc. There's plenty of exposure to activities outside the ring of academics such as guest lectures from dignified members of the society every week, social outreach program, outbound learning program, marathon case study and much more. LIBA is nothing short of an experience of a lifetime. Students generally have a great time during their stay - balancing academics and learning to have fun while at it. We have celebrated almost every festival that is known and famous (including Halloween). The college management has always encouraged us to participate/ prove our mettle in events hosted by other colleges and boy, we've won in many competitions and made heads turn. LIBA has a decent infrastructure (which is improving year on year) and the prescribed courses are taught by the best faculty. We have plenty of visiting faculty (Even international) who teach specific courses. The place where I felt the person inside me, every B-school have a rigorous curriculum here the difference is learning with fun, you will forget the pressure. You are free to think, it’s the skill you can learn only in very few schools in India. Most of the crowd here will be creative, the tasks they involved will be not only related to academic. Faculty members are very friendly and approachable, every term is filled with events, cultural, conclave, exam, presentation, and treat.

Good experience

I joined Liba as I felt it was one of those few colleges in south India with the good return on investment. The faculty has been good and the learning experience has been interesting. The crowd and college life is good. However, the infrastructure is lacking and can be improved. The placement is good but can become better. Overall it has been a good experience.

Life at LIBA

LIBA is the best B-School in the south. Here we learn things practically , ensuring that we can exhibit the theoretically learned content in real life scenario. The orientation towards co-curriculum activities is remarkable, as we have many academic clubs where we get more hands-on experience in organizing and team participation. Not to forget the extra-curriculum, we have plenty of sports and other activities which not only relieves stress but also give a bit of learning. In simple, we can acronym LIBA as Life Is Beyond Awesome !!!

My Experience at LIBA: Good, Better, hopefully the best

LIBA, one of the oldest B-schools in the country, situated in the center of the city is bound to give you an all rounded experience of the two years. Unlike any premier B-schools, we start off at the last week of May with our foundation courses. Except for the painful fact that they made us attend college in the scorching heat of Chennai, it was really impressive how they bring us on track right from day 1. These two-week classes not only threw some light on the kind of subjects we'd have but it also served as an ice-breaking session. The faculties of LIBA are really good. They are completely well versed with their subjects and not only that, they are easily reachable and really responsive to all our queries through the day. So the faculties are like a big GO-GO for LIBA. Being a typical student that I'm, the main thing I was concerned about when the term began was the attendance policy. LIBA has some really stringent attendance policies. We are not allowed to miss more than two (in some cases one!) classes. In a way, it's good given that our faculties really do justice to all the hour and a half long sessions, but it becomes a real toughie to get permission for leaves even for the most genuine of reasons. One of the other impressive thing about LIBA is the weekly guest lectures that they hold every week irrespective of whether there are any exams or not. They actually bring in people whom we've heard of and they give us an idea of what is actually out there in the business world. The students are also allowed to have a direct interaction with them with our queries. They really help you come out of your shells. Another thing which I as an engineer was really impressed about is, how the faculties conduct their exams. They manage to make even the driest of subjects interesting and they don't encourage needless rambling and story writing. So we actually learn something out of everything! Despite LIBA being an academically oriented institute, they provide with a number of platforms so we as future managers and entrepreneurs try our hands out at other curricular activities too. We have close to 14 clubs and it's up to the student to choose their clubs of interest. Though its not mandatory that we be part of any club, it's best that we do. So personally, I feel LIBA has actually broken the myth that students pursuing MBA at a good institute will not have any breathing space in their two years of the course. LIBA provides a good balance of fun and learning and it will stand to meet the expectations of every MBA aspirant.
