Admission Process 2021
Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology offers admission to various undergraduate (BE), diploma, postgraduate (M.Tech, MBA, MCA) and doctoral (Ph.D) courses. Admissions to BE course id done through KCET examinations conducted by the Karnataka Government followed by a counselling process while admissions to postgraduate courses are made through the entrance examinations (PGCET/KMAT/CMAT/GATE). The detailed admission processes to all courses are given below:
For BE Programmes:-
- Candidates have to appear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (K CET) conducted by Government of Karnataka and secure a valid score or have to appear for the COMED-K conducted by Consortium of private colleges of Karnataka.
- Eligible candidates have to apply online on the official website of the NMIT and submit the application form along with the requisite documents.
- Admission will be offered based on the marks secured in KCET/COMEDK, counselling participation, document verification and fee payment.
For M.Tech Programmes:-
- Candidates have to appear for the PGCET conducted by the Government of Karnataka or GATE (for management quota candidates) and secure a valid score.
- Eligible candidates have to apply online on the official website of the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology and submit the application form along with the needed documents.
- Admission will be offered based on the marks secured in PGCET/GATE, counselling participation, Seat allotment, document verification and fee payment.
For MBA Programme:-
- Candidates have to appear for the PGCET conducted by the Government of Karnataka or PGCET/KMAT/CMAT (for management quota candidates) and secure a valid score.
- Eligible candidates have to apply online on the official website of the institute and submit the application form along with the required documents.
- Admission will be offered based on the marks secured in PGCET/KMAT/CMAT, counselling participation, document verification and fee payment.
For MCA Programme:-
- Candidates have to appear for the PGCET conducted by the Government of Karnataka or PGCET/KMAT (for management quota candidates) and secure a valid score.
- Eligible candidates have to apply online on the official website of the NMIT and submit the application form along with the requisite documents.
- Admission will be offered based on the marks secured in PGCET/KMAT, counselling participation, document verification and fee payment.
For Diploma Programmes:-
- Admissions to the diploma programmes are done through the management quota only.
- Candidates should be eligible with a senior school leaving certificate and have to apply online on the official website of the institute and submit the application along with the needed documents.
For PhD Programmes:-
- Candidates have to apply online on the official website of Visveswaraiah Technological University and submit the application form along with the requisite documents.
- Candidates have to appear in the Visveswaraiah Technological University Eligibility Test (VTU-ETR).
- Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the interview/presentation conducted by NMIT.

Admission through COMED-K :
A consortium of the management of the private colleges of Karnataka conducts this test tentatively in the month of May every year. Both Karnataka & Non-Karnataka students can appear for this test. 30% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through COMED-K test.
Admission through CET :
The government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test tentatively in the month of April every year. Karnataka domicile students can apply for this test and the allotment of the seats is done online. 45% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through CET. In addition to this, 5% of Supernumerary quota seats are also made available for the meritorious- economically weaker students with the tuition fee waiver provision.
Admission through management quota :
25% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through management quota.
