I think you should apply to both. And if you are selected for both then AIIMS patna is a better choice compared to Patna Medical college. As the future prospects are better in AIIMS, it being a national university. All the best.

GSVM is the second best college of UP, or in fact first as KG is now a university it is the best college of UP (this was told to us on our first day).

This college in fact is a hub of Co curricular activities. Every month you will encounter something which will allow you to show your talent, and your talent is not wasted here.

For admission in Patna Medical College, Patna the cut off in 2017 for the OBC Category under the state quota was a rank of 5,107 and 581 marks.

Considering your rank, you seem to have a fair chance. Hope for the best!

Now coming to studies. The clinical department here is awesome. In the first year you will fall in love with the anatomy department. Physiology department is good but you will have to motivate yourself into this subject as this department is not into regular tests and same is with biochemistry.

Here they take practicals really very seriously and in no case you will be disappointed here as being a doctor practical knowledge is more important than theoretical. Regular studies is the key to success here.

One thing which could disappoint you are the bunks. They are quite long but after all you would love them. Attendance is not of much problem here though sometimes they would call you in your vacations to complete it but you will enjoy that too.

Regarding hostels, boys would have no problem as their hostels are well built, but for girls it is slight disappointment as we have shortage of rooms here.

So here we follow the mantra study with enjoy, but to tell you we are affiliated with CSJM university Kanpur, and from 2017 Batch the affiliation will go to KGMU, so some changes are expected but how will it change that this year's Batch can only experience and tell.

I think KGMU affiliation is a one plus point here over PMCH Patna

Sorry but it seems that you won't be able to get a seat in PMCH Patna  as the cutoff goes high for the college. To get a seat in PMCH you need a rank within 1500 to secure your seat in this college. However you might get some other govt and private colleges with these marks.
