Hi there! Thanks for reaching out to us at Careers360. I'm an intern here, so I'm still learning the ropes, but I'll do my best to help you out with your question about NEET PG seats in 2024.

You know, I actually came across some interesting information about this recently. From what I understand, there's been a pretty big jump in NEET PG seats over the past couple of years. Let me share what I found:

The total number of NEET PG seats in India was 70,645 at the start of the 2023-24 academic year. That's a huge increase from the previous year, which had 31,185 seats. It's really impressive how much it's grown!

The government has been pushing to increase these PG seats as part of their efforts to improve healthcare in India. It makes sense when you think about it - more seats mean more trained doctors, which is great news for everyone.

As for 2024 specifically, I haven't come across any official numbers yet. These things tend to get announced closer to the exam date. But given the trend we've seen, it wouldn't surprise me if there's another increase.

Is there anything specific you're curious about regarding the 2024 seats? I'd be happy to help you look into it further or point you towards some resources if you need more info. Just let me know!

Hello aspirant,

Along with the results, the NEET PG 2024 cut off percentile has been made public. The minimum number of qualifying marks required for a candidate to be eligible for the exam is known as the cut off. NBE posted the NEET PG 2024 results online in PDF format. Each category's NEET PG 2024 cutoff scores will be made public individually. A candidate cannot sit for the NEET PG 2024 exam unless their score is more than or equal to the cutoff. The NEET PG 2024 cutoff serves as the foundation for shortlisting applicants for MD, MS, and PG diploma programs in India. On September 5, 2024, NBE announced the NEET PG 2024 merit list for 50% of the AIQ seats.

Hello aspirant,

Yes, you can apply for Tamil Nadu NEET PG counseling 2024 even if you have less than 50 percentile.

The eligibility criteria for NEET PG counseling in Tamil Nadu typically require candidates to meet the minimum qualifying percentile set by the Medical Council of India (MCI). However, the state government may also have its own eligibility criteria.

Here's what you should do:

  1. Check the official notification: Refer to the official notification released by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council or the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Medical Education for the exact eligibility criteria and important dates.
  2. Verify your eligibility: Ensure that you meet all the eligibility criteria, including minimum qualifying percentile, category-wise cutoff (if applicable), and any other requirements.
  3. Apply online: If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for counseling online as per the schedule mentioned in the notification.

Note: While you may be eligible to apply, securing a seat depends on various factors, including your rank, category, and the number of available seats. It's advisable to consult with a counseling expert or refer to the official notification for more information.

NEET PG College Predictor

https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-pg-college-predictor?

Hello Student,
With an All India Rank of 21,000 in the General category in NEET PG, getting an MS/DNB in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) in the northern region of India may be challenging but not impossible, especially in government institutions. The competition for OBGYN is generally high, and the cutoffs for top government colleges may be significantly lower than your rank.

However, you could still explore options in:

DNB programs: in smaller cities or less popular hospitals, as their cutoffs might be more flexible.
Private medical colleges  or institutions with higher cutoff ranks, though these may have higher fees.

It would be helpful to review the last year's cutoffs for the specific states in the north, such as Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, to see which colleges might offer seats at your rank. Additionally, participating in the mop-up and stray vacancy rounds might improve your chances.
Thankyou

Hello Aspirant

Yes, you are eligible to appear for the CAT exam despite having less than 50% in your undergraduate degree.

While many institutions and entrance exams have a minimum percentage requirement, the CAT eligibility criteria generally focus on the overall aggregate percentage. In most cases, a minimum aggregate of 50% is required, considering all semesters of your undergraduate degree.

Since you have a postgraduate degree with 79%, your overall aggregate percentage will likely meet the eligibility criteria for CAT.

Securing a DCH seat in these states with a rank of 34,400 in the general category might be challenging, but not impossible. The competition for DCH seats, especially in government colleges, is typically high. However, several factors can influence your chances:

  • State-specific cutoffs: Cutoffs for DCH can vary significantly between states. Some states might have lower cutoffs compared to others.
  • College preferences: Your choice of college can also impact your chances. Government medical colleges often have higher cutoffs than private colleges.
  • Round-wise counseling: Many states conduct multiple rounds of counseling. If you don't get a seat in the initial rounds, you might have a better chance in subsequent rounds as the cutoffs may decrease.

Specific State Analysis:

  1. Kerala: Kerala is known for its competitive medical admissions. While it's challenging to predict the exact cutoff for DCH with a rank of 34,400, you might consider exploring options in private medical colleges or colleges in less popular districts.
  2. Karnataka: Karnataka's cutoffs for DCH can vary depending on the college and category. You might have a better chance in government medical colleges outside of Bangalore or in private medical colleges.
  3. Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu also has competitive medical admissions. However, you might have a better chance in government medical colleges in less popular districts or in private medical colleges.

Recommendations:

  • Participate in all counseling rounds: Don't give up if you don't get a seat in the initial rounds.
  • Explore all options: Consider both government and private medical colleges.
  • Research state-specific cutoffs: Look for previous year's cutoffs to get an idea of the expected range.
  • Stay updated: Keep track of the counseling schedule and any updates from the respective state counseling authorities.

While your chances might be slim, it's worth participating in the counseling process and exploring all available options.

Your rank is too low as MD or DNB respiratory medicine /chest medicine seats are limited, your rank is not good enough to get 1 of those. If you are adamant about resp med, you can take a DNB diploma in chest diseases, and later a secondary DNB degree after obtaining the diploma.or take exam next year if this is your first attempt.
