Hello there,

The closing ranks for DNB (Diplomate of National Board) seats in NEET PG can vary significantly depending on the specialty, college, and location. However, for the ST (Scheduled Tribe) category, the closing ranks for DNB seats in 2023 were generally higher (indicating more availability) compared to the general category.

As of the latest available data for 2023, the approximate closing ranks for DNB seats for the ST category were as follows:

  • General Medicine: Around 55,000 to 60,000
  • Pediatrics: Around 60,000 to 65,000
  • Orthopedics: Around 65,000 to 70,000
  • Radio Diagnosis: Around 35,000 to 45,000
  • Obstetrics & Gynecology: Around 55,000 to 65,000
  • Anesthesia: Around 75,000 to 85,000
  • Ophthalmology: Around 70,000 to 80,000
  • Dermatology: Around 40,000 to 50,000

These ranks are indicative and can change based on factors such as the number of seats available, candidate preferences, and the specific institutions offering DNB courses.

To get the most accurate and updated information, it is advisable to check the official counseling websites or the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) notifications during the admission process.

Hello Aspirant

No, you can not apply for CUET PG 2025 because the first eligibility criteria that NTA asks for in the entrance exam is that the candidate must have passed all their semesters without any backlogs in their graduation. In order to even apply, you'll have to upload all your semester results.

If you are able to clear your backlogs before CUET PG, then you can definitely apply.

Hope this helps

Hello Aspirant

The college predictor works on the basis of the filters that you apply to it. if you have selected government college, then it would show you government colleges only. You may selected the option by mistake. Check it once before using it in the future. If the issue persists even after doing the above-mentioned step, contact the Careers360 help center.

Hope this helps

Hello there,

For NEET PG, the cutoff marks for different categories, including OBC and those with Hyderabad-Karnataka (now Kalyana Karnataka) reservation in Karnataka, can vary each year. However, I can provide you with a general idea based on recent trends.

NEET PG Cutoff Trends (General Overview):

  • OBC Category (All India Quota): The cutoff usually ranges between the 40th and 50th percentile, which translates to around 300-350 marks depending on the exam difficulty and the number of candidates.

  • Hyderabad-Karnataka Reservation (Kalyana Karnataka): Candidates with this reservation often get some relaxation in the cutoff marks. The exact reduction depends on the specific guidelines issued by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) each year.

    Hyderabad-Karnataka (Kalyana Karnataka) Reservation:

  • Candidates from the Kalyana Karnataka region are eligible for reservation under Article 371J, which provides specific benefits in education and employment within Karnataka.

  • This reservation might offer a reduction in the cutoff by 10-15 marks compared to the general OBC category cutoff for NEET PG.

Expected Cutoff Marks for 2024 (Approximation):

  • OBC with Kalyana Karnataka Reservation: Cutoff could be around 290-340 marks , depending on the competition and seat availability.

    Steps to Check Official Cutoffs:
  1. Visit the official website of the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) after the NEET PG results are announced.

  2. Check the specific cutoff details for the OBC category with Kalyana Karnataka reservation.

For the most accurate and updated information, it's best to refer to the official NEET PG counseling website or the KEA website once the results and cutoff lists are released.

Hello there,

With a NEET PG rank of 30,771 in the OBC category, your chances of getting a clinical branch in a government college can vary depending on the state quota, availability of seats, and the specific branch you're aiming for. Here's a general overview of what you might expect:

Clinical Branches with Higher Chances:

  • Diploma Courses: You might have a fair chance of securing diploma courses in clinical branches like Diploma in Anesthesia (DA) or Diploma in Child Health (DCH) .

  • Non-Surgical Branches: Branches like General Medicine or Pediatrics could be challenging, but some states might offer seats depending on the availability.

  • Less Competitive Branches: Courses like Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, or Community Medicine might be easier to secure with your rank.

    Chances for Specific Clinical Branches:

  • General Medicine & Pediatrics: You might have slim chances in some less competitive states, but these branches are usually highly competitive.

  • Anesthesia & Psychiatry: These are more likely, especially if you opt for a less popular college or state.

  • Radiology & Dermatology: These are typically very competitive, so getting these branches in a government college would be unlikely with your rank.

    Next Steps:
  1. State Quota Counseling: Focus on state quota counseling as state-specific cutoffs are generally lower than the All India Quota (AIQ).

  2. Stay Updated: Keep an eye on the seat allotment trends from previous years and during ongoing counseling rounds.

  3. Consider DNB: If you don't get the desired clinical branch in MD/MS, consider DNB programs, which are available in various hospitals and are recognized equally to MD/MS.

Given your rank and category, you might have a good chance of getting some of the less competitive clinical branches, but top branches like General Medicine, Pediatrics, Radiology, and Dermatology will likely be out of reach in government colleges.
