Hello,

If you didn’t secure a good rank in ICAR PG and are considering SHUATS, note that since it’s now non-ICAR, your degree may not be valid for ICAR fellowships, JRF, or some government research jobs. However, it’s still recognized by UGC, so you can pursue private or state-level opportunities and even PhD later. If you aim for research or government roles, dropping a year to improve your ICAR rank is better. Otherwise, SHUATS can be a decent option to continue your studies without a gap.

Hope you understand.

Hello,

In NEET PG 2024, lowest cut-off for MS General Surgery varied by state and category.

Osmania Medical College (Telangana): Around 20,500 ranks.

KGMU Lucknow: Around 8,200 ranks.

Generally, aim for a rank under 10,000 (AIQ) for government seats, some state and private colleges accept higher ranks.

Hope you understand.

Hello,

With a NEET PG rank of around 58,000 and BCB category, it is difficult to get top clinical branches like MD General Medicine, MD Paediatrics, MD Radiodiagnosis or MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology in government colleges. Based on previous year trends, such branches usually close below 25,000–30,000 ranks even for reserved categories.

However, with your rank, you may still get clinical branches like:

  • MD Anaesthesiology

  • MS ENT

  • MS Ophthalmology

  • MD Community Medicine

  • DNB Family Medicine

  • DNB Anaesthesia

  • DNB Ophthalmology

These are possible in private medical colleges or DNB institutes , especially in states like Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra , where the number of private and DNB seats is higher.

You should also participate in state quota and DNB counselling , as you may get a clinical branch under BCB category in less competitive colleges or non-metro locations.

If you prefer a government seat, you may need to consider non-clinical branches like Pathology, Pharmacology, or Microbiology.

You can also use the NEET PG College Predictor Tool to predict which colleges you can get based on your score or rank.

Thank you !

All the best.

Hello,

Yes, a DU SOL Psychology student is eligible to appear for the CUET PG Psychology exam, provided you meet the basic eligibility criteria set by the participating universities. As per CUET PG rules, students who have completed or are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university — including DU SOL (School of Open Learning) — can apply.

Your mode of study (regular or distance) does not affect your eligibility, as DU SOL is a UGC-recognized institution. Just make sure your graduation subject and percentage match the specific university eligibility criteria for MA. / MSC Psychology during admission.

Hope you understand.

Hello,

Yes, you can get a refund for NEET PG counselling, but it depends on when and how you withdraw your participation.

Here’s how it generally works :

1. Before seat allotment: If you withdraw before any seat is allotted, your security deposit is usually refunded in full.

2. After seat allotment but before joining: If you get a seat and don’t join or resign within the allowed time, a partial deduction or forfeiture might happen.

3. After joining a college: Once you’ve taken admission, the refund usually isn’t given the fee goes to the college or MCC as per their policy.

4. Refund timeline: The refund (if eligible) is credited to your original payment account usually within a few weeks after counselling ends.

You’ll get your money back only if you withdraw at the right stage and follow the official process properly.

I hope you find this helpful!!!

Thank you
