The colleges which you have mentioned about which you are seeing admission ie, Symbiosis Institute of Technology and KJ Somaiya College Of Engineering is quite difficult because both stands almost same in all categories. The both colleges are private Institution and both affiliated to there university, but the KJ Somaiya has now become deemed University and both colleges have a beautiful infrastructure and a satisfactory level of facilities. There is no such thumb rule that students have to opt Mathematics as a subject in 12th grade.

If you are position to clear all these hurdles then you are good to get a convert.

As you have been waitlisted at number 18 so it seems a fair chance for you to get the convert.

your waiting list number is too high. if it was around 50-70, it would be easy to get in the college.

I would like to suggest you to find a backup college to get admission in if you dont get in Symbiosis. As you wont be hung by it, meanwhile you can apply for some other college.

The candidate should complete  XII (10+2) examination from any recognized Board with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates). Applicants  who have appeared currently for their Standard XII final examination and are waiting  for  results are also eligible to apply, however at the time of admission must submit the pass certificate.
