Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), established in 1957 by philanthropist Late Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar, is a government-aided autonomous institution. Set in a serene, eco-friendly campus with excellent infrastructure, TCE follows the CDIO framework, offering hands-on training through innovative curriculum, teaching, and assessment methods.
Thiagarajar College of Engineering Madurai offers multiple courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. TCE Madurai Courses include B.E/B.Tech, B.Des, B.Arch, M.E/M.Tech, M.S, MSc, MCA, and Ph.D. Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria of the course. Nearly 40% of B.E/B.Tech students at the college come from such backgrounds and often require financial assistance to continue their education. To address this need, the TCE Madurai scholarship is offered on a merit-cum-means basis through the Thiagarajar College of Engineering Alumni Charitable Trust. Funds for the scholarships are sourced from alumni donations collected during reunions and visits, and the interest generated from these contributions is used annually to support deserving students.

The college infrastructure is five-star, with top notch labs, a spacious campus and comfortable ladies rest area, and excellent facilities. The food can improve, but overall, its outstanding. The spacious campus is an advantage.
The classes and library are adequate. Labs are outdated and missing crucial systems for heavy workloads. Hostels are good depending on the block but they are well maintained for the most part. Mess food is good enough. General environment of the campus is good, filled with greenery.
College well-equipped for academic and extracurricular growth. Classrooms are airy and updated with modern facilities. Laboratories in all departments are fully functional, helping students gain practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge. The library is well-stocked and also offers digital learning resources. Hostel facilities are decent, providing safe and comfortable accommodation for both boys and girls.
