Hello.
For doing bsc from Indian institute of Science formerly IISC a candidate must follow the eligibility criteria which says a candidate must have passed his intermediate with at least 50% aggregate from any recognised board with physics ,chemistry mathematics as a main subjects  so you are not eligible to do BSc.
Best of luck.

Hi Niki,

MATHS is not at all compulsory for admission to IISc. There ars separate departments in Chemistry , Physics , Biology , Maths etc,. - who offer inter departmental programs as well as individual courses by parent departments.

And Math will come in your syllabus or not totally depends on which degree you want to pursue here. Like for Bsc you need to give KVPY which has maths in it, if you come here for masters in biological science you donot require core maths subject. But for any research knowing maths is essential so I would advice you to pursue atleast basic mathematics.

Hope this will help, please feel free to ask if you have nay further queries.

Thank you.

Hi anish!

The cutoff range mentioned is the opening rank - closing rank. That means that a candidate of rank 5001 chose the branch offered in the Institute and prior to him no one chosen and the closing rank would mean that the last seat is filled by the 8000 ranked student.

That does not mean that only the ones within the range should chose, any student even the rank no. 1 student can chose the branch if he desires. The data only represents the students' ranks range who have chosen the particular branch in that particular year.

With 3000 rank , you would be perfectly eligible to chose that particular branch in IISc

Goodluck!

hi,

see in general phd course duration is 3-4 years, but integrated phd means in that course you can learn about masters program as well as research program. the eligibility criteria for iisc phd course in biological sciences  is candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Biotechnology or Chemistry or Physics or Mathematics or Pharmacy or  Veterinary Sciences or  Agriculture course pass holder under the  pattern of 10+2+3/4 system, also you need to qualify in jam 2020 if you are attempting to this year admission, now if you already enrolled for master, that also will no problem as there is no upper age limit, however your masters certificate may not be evaluated since minimum criteria is bachelors degree for integrated phd course.

Hello.
Scope after doing course from IISC or IIT depends upon your course which you did from either of the institute, actually IISC offers you theoretical research based courses while IIT offers you more practical (technical) based course, also some theoretical course.
Research level course has higher scope if you did it from IISC while for technical course scope is high in IIT as per the placement prospective.
Best of luck.

Hello,

Yes, you can definitely appear for JEE Mains if you have maths as an additional subject in your 12th boards. The eligibility requires that a candidate should have studied physics chemistry and maths in 10+2 with a recognised board. But you must have secured 75% marks in 12th with only PCM to be eligible for admission into the IITs.

I hope this helps.

College Infrastructure

Our college provides excellent Wi-Fi. The labs have good computers. Classrooms are clean and have good lighting effects. The library has many books. The good part is that they allow us to borrow for many days, and the penalty is less for late submissions. Every odd semester, we have a fest. The hostel is not very good, and the food is not good.
