Well, regarding the choices, it is evidednt you are confused because you are filling the JoSAA counseling on basis of previous trends not on the basis of your interest.
Metallurgy and chemical engineering, both are different branches and also, let me tell you both are great if you find interest in them and both are useless, if you find bored with them
So, I would recommend you to discover you niche/interest in a particular engieerning branch, then fill the choices on JoSAA accordingly.
Also, IIT BHU and IIT Dhanbad, both are excellent colleges, but BHU bit better.
Hello Abhish Mishra,
Well these kind of dilemma arises with every student every other year. Now, as we have seen over the years, the average package of both the departments donot varry by a big margin. So you must decide what you could do best in and choose the department accordingly because it's the skill level that matters ultimately.
All the best.
Hello Vishal, Congratulations on your result. With this rank it will be very difficult for you to get admission in IIT BHU in ceramic engineering branch. You can try for other newer IITs or NITs where you can have a better chance of getting a seat. You can also try for other colleges apart from JOSAA such as BITS. Hope this helps.
Hii Shyam..
First of all congratulations for performing so well in JEE advance.
According to me you should go for IIT BHU CSE because it is one of the most premier institute in India and when compared to IIIT Hyderabad then the college have battle placements. The highest placement of IIT BHU CSE till now is 2.5 crores which is much higher than IIT Hyderabad comparatively. The college culture at IIT BHU is much better and the college have a very good Alumni network with an awesome campus culture.
Hope it helps..

Dear Aspirant,
Congratulations for cracking the joint entrance examination (advance).
You have interest in Indian institute of technology BHU and Indian institute of technology, Guwahati, Assam.
According to me, you can definitely opt for Electronics and communication engineering in Indian institute of technology, Guwahati.
ECE is a very demanding branch compared to Electronics and electrical engineering.
The placement chance and research scope is very much high in ECE. So you can give importance the ECE branch.
Best of luck.
Last but not least, you have to keep in mind that placement depends upon the ability of a student.
All IITs are very good.
Hope it helps.
The infra is I would say average only not too good and not too bad …it need to work on its infra they really need to work on that otherwise people would stop taking IIT BHU …most of the nits have better infra
Hostels: Separate hostels for boys and girls with amenities like laundry, dining halls, and medical centers Labs: Modernized laboratories for various subjects including chemistry, physics, and computer science Library: A well-equipped library with over 88,000 books, terminals for accessing databases, and more Sports facilities: A sports complex with a swimming pool, tennis courts, indoor squash courts, and more Auditorium: A large auditorium Canteen: A cafeteria Gym: Separate gyms for boys and girls
The infrastructure of this IIT needs to be improved as far as other IITS are concerned. We will find decent hostels situated on campus. It also has its own mess, which provides decent food. Classrooms are also well-equipped with modern facilities. Here, the library has very limited capacity so it needs to be expanded.
