The answer is obviously IIT Bombay chemical engineering is far better than IIT Gandhinagar material science and engineering the reasons are following.
The infrastructure available at IIT Bombay is far exceeding than Gandhinagar.
IIT Bombay is well established chemical engineering department whereas material science engineering department IIT Gandhinagar is new.
Even in later stages of your course if your interest deviates from chemical engineering for core courses like material science then IIT Bombay will provide your backup option option in terms of placement is there is more than 80% placement.

Hello,
First of all congratulations.
As you have asked,
It depends on the profile of the job. The average will be around 9lpa. But the highest ones can go up to thrice the average.
Design is something you should come only if you like, coming in for salary wouldn’t be a wise choice. Your choice closes lots of doors such as other fields.
So,
Choose wisely.
IITs have various Undergraduate, Post Graduate and other courses. They do not have courses before you complete your 12th. And so you should complete atleast 12th to take admission in IITs. This rule also applies for IIT Bombay. IIT Bombay takes admission based on JEE Advanced scores. And to appear for JEE Advanced, you should qualify for JEE Advanced through JEE Mains. To qualify for JEE Mains, there is no minimum aggregate criteria. But if you want to join NITs, IIITs or CFTIs then you should score a minimum aggregate of 75% only in your 12th. 11th marks aren't considered. And then to appear for JEE Advanced which is the gateway for admission to IITs, you will need to fulfill the 75% aggregate condition. Now it is 75% for General Category and 65% for Reserved Categories. So how much you score in 12th is what matters to secure your eligibility for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and JEE Advanced.
