NIT Durgapur All Questions

Dear Aspirant,
You have interest in the field of computer science and engineering.
According to me, National institute of technology, Durgapur will be best option in comparison with Maulana Azad National institute of technology, Bhopal and Sardar Vallabhbhai national institute of technology,Surat.
Because National institute of technology, Durgapur has enough faculty members to guide the students.
But SVNIT,Surat and MANIT, Bhopal have deficiency of faculties because these institutions are new compared to NIT, Durgapur.
Now come to the point of infrastructure. The infrastructure is almost same in these colleges.The infrastructure is very much good.These colleges have well equipped laboratory, good liberary, good water management system, Banking facility, hostel facility etc.
Now, come to the last and the most important point-"Placement".
National institute of technology, Durgapur has a decent placement record specifically in computer science and engineering branch.Every year all most all b.tech in CSE students get placement in top Multi national companies like TCS, Microsoft, Cognizant etc. You can go to the official website of NIT, Durgapur: www.nitdgp.ac.in and cross check the placement record.
But SVNIT,Surat and MANIT,Bhopal have good Placement record,but their placement is lesser than NIT, Durgapur. You can opt for NIT, Durgapur.
Keep it in your mind that placement depends upon the hard work,study, knowledge and good communication skills of a student.

As per the previous year cut-offs, the closing rank for mechanical engineering at NIT Durgapur was 17444 for other state candidates and 25931 for home state quota. If you are a Bonafide then you have some chances of getting in this year, otherwise you will not be able to get in.

Since your results are out, so you must know your category rank and other ranks by now. But, I would like to inform you the second part of the question regarding college. This year the percentile cutoff for NIT Durgapur or JNU would be much above than what you have achieved. But, since you have  SC category, you might have a chance! However, you haven't mentioned your home state. So, it becomes to difficult to exactly predict whether you would get your desired college and branch. NIT Durgapur has overall great placement record every year due to which it is in the top 10 NITs in the country. In fact, CSE branch has almost 100 percent placement every year and has become the best branch in terms of placement since IT branch is merged with it from 2018-2019.

Salary of the different branches cannot be just predicted easily. It all depends on the companies visiting and the talent of the students. However, for an average student, CSE in IIEST Shibpur will be a better option to earn more packages. But, if you have potential, you can do great things and get highly paid from Electrical in NIT Durgapur also.
