In terms of placement and average package nit Durgapur chemical engineer branch has an edge over iiest shibpur civil engineering branch. I will suggest you to go for the second one only if you want to clear the competitive examinations at State and National level.

The closing rank for admission in Chemical engineering via home state quota was around 30,000 for general category, last year. This year's cut-offs are also expected to be similar with slight variations. Nevertheless, you will be able to get admission in Chemical engineering, based on your rank.

For M.Tech in Thermal Engineering, which one of these is better? NIT Durgapur or NIT Kurukshetra.

As both the NIT's are good .
But the NIT kurukshetra is best for thermal engineering in terms of faculty and placement records.
Placements are good for mechanical students here.and the placement rate is also increasing every year here.You can go for NIT Kurukshetra .

Sir my crl rank is 1.2 lakh and my obc rank is 37332 and i belong to west bengal. Sir can i get in nit durgapur in biotechnology.

Hello,

Based on the cutoff of 2018 you have chances in NIT Durgapur for Biotechnology.

The closing rank for OBC under stae quota was 56268.

But every year the cutoff will vary based on the difficulty level of exam, no of applicants, no of seats available etc.

College Infrastructure

NIT Durgapur has some very old buildings, but the newly formed Academic block, utkarsh bhawan is very good infrastructures. Library also good. Senior hostels are little bit less maintained, but hostels for 1st year and 2nd years are good.
