Hi Aryan Arora,

As per your JEE Percentile and previous year cutoff, you will get  Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala in B.E. in Computer Engineering, B.E. in Electronics and Computer Engineering, B.E. in Computer Science and Business systems, B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering.

But there are less chances of getting VIT Vellore. Because this year VIT Vellore entrance exam has been cancelled and many students will apply through JEE to get a seat. Also, seats will depends on many parameters like number of students applied, difficulty of exam.

To know more about your chances of getting other colleges check out the college predictor link below:

Hi Sakshi!

Your PCM percentage in class 12 is way above the minimum percentage required for qualifying for counselling process. The proper cutoffs for this year cannot be determined since it is the very first time that this kind of admission process is going to take place.

Although they have mentioned many parameters with which the ties in candidate parameters can be cleared. I will give a link below for your latest updates.

Feel free to ask any other query. Thanks!

Hello aspirant

You have got good PCM score and average Jee main score. There has been very tough competition for CS branch in all colleges. You will get BE seat in Thapar University but about CS branch can't say.

It depends on cut off of of jee main 2020 and 10+2 score of Thapar University. Cut off depends on number of candidates appeared in exam, difficulty level of exam, previous year's cut off etc.

This year admissions in engineering in Thapar University are given through two modes.

Mode 1)   70% seats are given on the basis of jee main score. The candidates getting Admission through this mode need to secure minimum 60% marks in PCM.

Mode 2).   30% seats are given on the basis of 10+2 score. Candidate getting admission through this mode must have minimum 75% marks in xii board in PCM subjects.

Now 2019 cut off of Thapar University based on Jee main percentile is given below ( Third counselling, punjab candidates)

Branch            percentile

chemical engineering   68.81665586

civil engineering    69.5412946

ECE branch 84.3036621

mechatronics 75.0795185

Hi there!

Yes you will get admission In Thapar University, speaking of branch it is very difficult to say as last year only 30% seats were for board merit students so the cut off will vary a lot this year.

The branches you can get admission are:

1.Mechanical

2.Civil

3.Biotech

You will not be able to get Copmuters or Electronics.

Hope for the best .

Hey, there are  good chances that you may get a good college for B Tech. But I would say that it is preferable to have a good score in JEE as well. As most good colleges consider JEE as a priority. But still 88% is fantastic and would really be sufficient to get into a good college.

The Thapar University Revised Criteria are as follows.

i. Student has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject* OR Minimum 70% (65% for SC/ST candidates) marks in a Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration.

ii. possesses a good moral character.

iii. is a citizen of India. iv. has passed 10+2 examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020.

Desirable: The candidate has appeared in JEE (Main)- 2020.

I haven't understood ur question ,but i think u are asking how to get into thapar university in electrical domain so it  is based on a national level entrance exam/university's own entrance exam/basis of the class 12 marks.
No of seats in Electrical domain is 180

hey,

thapar institute of of engineering and technology do not conduct any entrance exam of their own , they provide admission to the students for the course bachelor of technology on the basis of 10+2 examination merit and the candidate who have qualified JEE main will be given more preference

Hi there !

You see these both are different programs Thapar University provides you a four year program in B.E. while HCL Tech provides you a one year program for those who want IT jobs after class 12th .

So if you want to pursue engineering then Thapar University is a Very good option for but if you want to pursue any other degree then you can go with hcl tech .

Hope it helps.
