Two opposite things!
CSE but from Guna;
JIIT-62 but ece.
Got the difference??
Maybe NO!
Before suggesting I would say that you should always follow your brain and then your heart. So if your brain says it's good to go with CSE ( which is best option these days) then go for CSE.
If it says it's inclined towards ECE then go for it.Being in 62 you definitely would get much exposure, you won't have to travel for any placement and stuff, and you would be aware of the opportunities prior to everyone. But the thing here is about the course. I would definitely suggest you to go for CSE since it just doesn't have opportunities but good packages as well! Amazing future if you love coding!
ECE is good but seriously talking you don't have any placements in core companies being a part of Jaypee Family!
Everything has pros and cons. Likewise:CSE is best! But if it's from guna you won't get much opportunities. You can try off campus but on campus it would get difficult.
Sector -62 is the main branch! But ECE won't offer you good core placements. Only if you try off campus in coding field it can be a plus, otherwise not!
I don't want to confuse you. But you are stuck in real mess.
Therefore I would suggest you to follow your decision considering the points I have mentioned.
In Jaypee:
CSE is Engineering only if it's done from sector-62 else it's not gonna be helpful during college placements. (Off campus via elitmus etc… can be done)
ECE is Engineering neglected in Jaypee, believe this- bitter truth!
Hi Ravinder,
Congratulations on scoring such good marks in your Boards. With these marks, you can definitely bag CSE branch in Thapar University. I hope you get the best.
All the best,
If you have any other queries then do post themon the portal,
Thank you
Hi Vinayak,
Congratulations on suc a good score in JEE mains. Thapar Univeristy takes admissions on two broader categories of "From Punjab" and "Outside Punjab". With your current score you can definitely bag a Computer science branch if you are from Punjab, that is, you have passed your 12th boards from Punjab. But if you are not from punjab then it would be your sheer luck which can get you a Computer science branch. Although you can definitely go for COEM( Computer Science + MBA).
If by chance you don't get your wished branch then you can change it after 1st semester and also after second semester based on your CGPA that you will get.
So I would suggest you to keep your CGPA well above 8.
I hope I was able to clear your doubt.
If you have any other queries then do post it on the portal.
Thank you
Do you have Punjab reservation?
If you have Punjab reservation then you are eligible otherwise you have less chances.
You can get good private college in other states like: Haryana, UP, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Maharashtra. Most of the states have reservation for other state students in private colleges based on JEE Main score/rank. You need to apply separately for them.
All the Best!!
Hi Mridul,
Thapar University is counted in some of the colleges that give maximum amount of placements to a batch of particular year. It takes admissions based on JEE mains marks and your 12th board aggregate percentage, and the chance of upgradation of branches is very high given if you have an easy scoring CGPA of 7.5 or above. Although the Biomedical Engineering Branch is not as thriving as it should be, in Thapar, they have never invited any companies which hires only core Biomedical Students. Although, many IT companies do come for mass recruitment in Thapar University, but they demand good coding skills, so I would just say that if you are planning to pursue your degree from Thapar only then you should keep your command on some coding languages as well, else bagging a placement can be next to impossible, where most of the companies hire the students of major core branches like Mechanical or Computer. This is the case for In-Campus Interview
Now I hope that you bag some great offers from In-Campus interviews only, Now if that’s not the case then you can individually apply for jobs in core Biomedical Companies to the companies that work in the same field.
For your ease, I am mentioning some of the companies that works in the field of Biomedical Engineering and are paying good salaries:
· Wipro GE Medical Systems
· Wipro Bio Medicals
· L&T
· Recorders and Medicare Systems
· BPL healthcare
· Instromedix
These are some of the good companies that hire Engineers to work in the field of Bio Medics.
Hope You have a great future ahead,
And if you have any other query then do feel free to post it on the portal
Thank you
Thapar has the most wonderful campus. Such a beauty to live within. It has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities starting from labs and classrooms to sports area and a market for daily essentials. We have a good working wifi that us available 24/7.Cleaning staff makes sure the campus looks well eveytime.
The institute offers classrooms equipped with projectors, providing a conducive learning environment. Laboratories are well-furnished and equipped with functional equipment, particularly in departments like school of chemistry and biochemistry.
The infrastructure of college is great. The library is amazing it is designed in such a way that it helps the students to learn more. The canteens are awesome. The labs and classrooms are also good. Great.
