Sir, I had got 64.61%in 12th Maharashtra board and total PCM score is 170. So, I had eligible to THAPAR University & BIT Mesra ?

BIT Mesra is a well established deemed University in Mesra near Ranchi whereas Thapar University is a good private University in Patiala.
Though both of them are good, BIT Mesra gains an upper hand when compared to other private colleges and universities due to its excellent facilities, placement, infrastructure and faculty.
So, go for BIT MESRA anyday over THAPAR UNIVERSITY because it is worth it.

I have withdraw my seat from thapar University but shall I have to go at patiala for the refund of my paid academic fees?

Hi Aniket,

Thapar University is a great college to study in and is considered one of the best in north India. Although it is considered to be the one which gulp in a high fees, but it is also very straightforward in refunding the money. The fee amount will be completely refunded to your bank account without going to the college campus.

Is there any spot round after third round of Thapar I got 84.23 and ECE+ MBA cut out is 84.88 my preference is 7

Hi A Rajani,

Congratulations on admission in TIET. Thapar conducts Online counselling based on JEE mains marks and then spot rounds take place at the campus auditorium. Where in also, the students are eligible for a branch on the basis of their ranks or percentile. It is not certain that if it will consider another spot round. But another counselling round takes place after the completion of First semester where they conduct a JEE mains type test internaly for the new admissions or the late admissions. The marks obtained in those are considered in the counselling which takes place just after the results are announced. So their is a pretty good chance that you will get a branch upgradation, but if by chance it fails to happen as wished, then after the completion of first year you will again get a chance to upgrade your branch. Although this round is purely based on the Cummulative Grade point Average, but mostly everyone gets the upgradation, which the student wants.

How is Electronics and computer engineering branch in Thapar University

Hello Shyeya,

The Electronics and computer engineering at Thapar University is a very good option as Thapar is a very know college in india. Now talking about the placement, 75% students get placed in the core like IT and consulting. The average placement for the year 2017 was 6 lakhs with 70% placement.

I recommend you to join ECE in Thapar and try to keep your CGPA above 8.4 and you will surely get placed in some good companies.

I can see two pathways of applying in thapar university this year-only jee mains and mains +boards. Pls tell me which is better?

Yes there are two path ways the better one is only jee mains as they give you branch on your jee score but when it comes to boards+ mains they have a criteria that your mains marks should be between some predefined score and board percentage should be more than 80%in pcm subjects. Then they give you the choice of branches which are remaining that is all the lower branches.

Yes , you surely can get coe with this score but maybe you wont be getting coe in the starting counselings or maybe in the first in person round but if you wait till the the spot round you have very good chances of getting coe in Thapar University.

Does thapar university take admission through josaa counseling?

Hey Aryan !
Yes, Thapar University does incorporate students through Josaa Counselling procedure.
As per the statistics of 2018, the elligible candidate must have a secured a minimum of 20% Marks under the UR Category whereas the same for the reserved categories falls to 15% corresponding to a total of 54 Marks.

You have good chances of getting your desired branch with this score..even if you dont get your desired branch in starting rounds of counseling then you can wait till the spot rounds, there you'll be definitely getting your desired branch.

Thapar has a modern and well-maintained campus with good hostel facilities and a clean environment. Classrooms are air-conditioned and labs are well-equipped. Wi-Fi is available across the campus. The library is spacious and has a good collection of books.
