Sorry to say that your score is too low. By these marks your chances of getting any government college are negligible. In order to get any Nit or IIIT's you Need 75 % in intermediate.

So I suggest you to appear for improvement in intermediate and try next year for jee mains..

Vnit, Nagpur is a good educational institution. MME is a very good branch, mostly in 2013 gate toppers are from MME branch. The faculties are good , they encourage for higher studies. 

In MME branch, the placement is about 70%, mostly the students are placed in core companies. So don't worry about placements. overall the college is a good choice.

Visvesvaraya national institute of technology is one of the best engineering college in India and it is established in 1960 by government of India. VNIT is a public engineering and research institution in India, it is located in Nagpur.

Your rank is above 50k but you can get VNIT Nagpur by chance because 55,769 rank is very high and if you want to take admission in VNIT the possibility of getting good branches is low but you can also get non core branches like petroleum engineering, biomedical engineering etc.

You must go through online counseling procedure and fill the top branches of VNIT in choice filling process and I assure you will get them if not in a 1st round then surely in 2nd or 3rd round .

Hello Tanmay, No, you won't get any NITs at this rank. The closing rank for the previous year for VNIT, Nagpur was 44982. She was a female home state category candidate. So, you don't have any chances of getting any branch in NIT, Nagpur. IIf you apply to other NITs, then you would be the other state candidate and there won't be any chance for a seat too.

VNIT Nagpur has got one of the best placement stats in the region. Most importantly, the students who get placed are even offered immediate joining after passing out from the institute. 

There are basically three types of companies visiting the college for mechanical engg. Automobile, power plant and cement companies machine maintenance and non core. 

In 2012 2013 batch in the first section i.e. automobile, companies like Tata, Mahindra, Honda, Bajaj, etc. companies had come offering packages varying from 4.5 to 7.1 lpa.
Whereas in the machine maintenance, there were many companies too. 

In 2013-2014 placements were down a bit on the automobile side, only Bajaj, Hero, Greaves cotton and similar vendors of these companies had come which took 3 to 5 people amounting a very less number of the batch. 4.5 by Greaves to 7.1 lpa by Bajaj was given. Then HUL, Pepsico, Tata Steel offered good packages from 7 to 12 lpa in Tata Steel. Tata Steel took up a past year intern and offered him a pre placement offer.

All in all, the placements are almost 80 percent in the batch and those who don't get placed are either interested in higher studies or are not qualified the 6 pointer criteria.
