AR College of Engineering and Technology, Tirunelveli Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. The college provides excellent facilities for students to stay in the college hostels- a home away from home, with delicious food including Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian menus. The Institute provides excellent hostel facilities within the campus for the students who wish to avail themselves of the campus residential facility separately for Gents. Airconditioned rooms with baths attached are also available to the needy. Hostels are well equipped with a separate dining hall and indoor/outdoor recreational facilities. There is a generator backup for the hostels in case of a break-in of the power supply.

The college provides a healthy mind that resides in a healthy body and the health of the body is maintained by the right food and regular exercise including sports and games. Thus physical education in an engineering college is not just recreation for the students but helps them to improve their inner qualities and team spirit. All efforts are being made in ARCET to develop the total physical education activities including a multi-station gymnasium. Students are also motivated to participate in intramural, intercollegiate, inter-zone, and inter-university tournaments and sports activities.

The college provides a Library is the heart of any educational institution. ARCET library is highly resourceful and is lavishly spaced in an area of 7000 sq. ft. It has a rich collection of Abstracts, Directories, Yearbooks, Biographical sources, Textbooks, Thesis, Dissertations, Encyclopedias, and General Monthly/Weekly/Daily Magazines and Newspapers including English, Malayalam, and Tamil languages. The library has also subscribed to more than 200 National and International Journals including IEEE, Elsevier ( Science Direct), ASCE, ASME, Springer, J_GATE, N-LIST E-resources (Through INFLIBNET), McGraw Hill e-Books, NPTEL facility (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) to access video lectures and Membership of DELNET (Interlibrary loan) for resource sharing.

The college provides Sports It is important for every student to shine like a star in academics, it is equally important for them to be physically fit and mentally alert. ARCET has - the latest equipment. to cope up with modern needs. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body and the health of the body is maintained by the right food and regular exercise including sports and games. Thus physical education in an engineering college is not just recreation for the students but helps them to improve their inner qualities and team spirit. Our College students constantly participated and won prizes and medals in all the track and team events in the Intramural Tournaments and Zonal Tournaments conducted by various Universities.

The college provides buses with well-trained drivers to different parts of the city to fetch the day scholars to college and to transport them back on each working day. Transport facility is available from the locations of Kerala - Attingal, Kollam, Kottarakara Punalur, and locations of Tirunelveli District - Tirunelveli City, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur, Alangulam, Cheranmadevi, Ambasamudram, kadayam to College campus. Also, route buses (KSRTC and TNSTC) are available from all major areas in Kerala to Tenkasi.
