DAVIET Jalandhar Admission Process
DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar provides admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. DAVIET admission will be offered to the students who meet the eligibility criteria. For admission to B.Tech programmes, students have to appear for the JEE Main examination followed by a PTU centralised counselling process. DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar admission to B.B.A, B.C.A and B.Tech Lateral programmes will be done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Students have to appear for the CMAT examination for DAVIET admission to the M.B.A programme. DAVIET B.Tech Admission (Direct Entry)
Students have to appear and qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main).
After the declaration of the results, the cutoff will be released.
Students who meet the DAVIET cutoff will have to register for the counselling process.
Candidates have to participate in the counselling process where they have to do choice filling, choice locking and select the DAVIET as their preference.
Next, students have to fill the college application form.
Final admission will be offered after document verification, seat allotment and fee payment.
DAVIET Admission for B.Tech (Lateral Entry)/B.B.A/B.C.A
Students should qualify the 10+2 examination.
Eligible candidates have to fill the online application form.
Students will be shortlisted on the basis of the inter-se-merit in the qualifying examination.
DAVIET admission will be offered after documentation and fee payment.
DAVIET Postgraduate Admissions
The institute offers admission to the six postgraduate courses. M.B.A, M.Tech, M.CA are the PG courses of DAVIET. The duration of the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar postgraduate courses is 2 years. The seat intake varies from course to course.

Students have to appear and qualify the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
Next, students have to fill the application form on the website of the institute.
Shortlisting of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the GATE examination.
If seats still remain vacant then, students will be selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
Final admission will be offered after document verification, seat allotment and fee payment.
DAVIET Admission Process for M.C.A/M.C.A (Lateral Entry)
Eligible students should fill the application form on the website of the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar.
Applicants will be selected on the basis of the merit of the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
Selected students have to get their documents verified by the concerned department and pay the fees to confirm their admission.
DAVIET M.B.A Admission Process
Applicants have to appear and qualify the CMAT.

I have studied bachelor of computer application course from daviet because i have keen interest in programming languages but their quality of teaching lacks practical approach as mostly we get theory lectures and do not able to understand practical approach of that so they should work on it and at my time curriculum is not updated they are teaching old technologies . And what i studied does not make me job ready .
Overall it is a good college. Nice exposure, good experience

Out Of three- DAVIET Jalandhar,PU Patiala and CGC Landran, Which is best for CSE and Placements?
Hi Aspirant,
In my opinion, you should go for CGC Landran which is among one of the best colleges in Chandigarh. You can go for PU Patiala as well.
Now regarding CSE branch, the faculty at CGC Landran is far better than the other two ones. So there is no doubt in choosing CGC college for better academics.
CGC Landran has a placement rate of 90% with more than 600 companies visiting every year. DAVIET college has a placement rate of 85%. Considering previous year's placement records for PU Patiala, the college had 100% placements by 36 companies but the average package isn't high and ranges between 4-6 lakhs on an average.

Which course in btech is better among mechanical and ECE in the view of placement and scope according to future and current state

There are two important things that you should consider while choosing a branch.
i) Interest: If you are too much into cars, machines and stuff then he should go for Mechanical Engineering, if you are not that specific about it then you can go for ECE. Electronics and Communication branch has got wider options and easier life compared to Mechanical Engineers. I have my mechanical friends who are placed in good companies earning a little less than EC E guys but sweating a lot more than ECE people and also the company location is in remote places and the job is more demanding and hectic.
ii) strengths and future: One most important thing that slips off everybody’s head is that, finally for placements what all it takes? Is it how much you have scored or how much yow know or your soft skills what you have developed during these four years?
As far as your aggregate score, it should be more than the cut off of the companies, these days its around 8/10 (CGPA) for all engineering branches.
Now if you are in mech and you want to get into best of the best companies then you definitely need good management skills and it doesn’t matter how sound you are technically. This soft skill plays a crucial role in placements, I have seen people who are toppers in the department but got placed after average scorers because of poor management skills.
But in ECE, companies are not so much specific about management skills, all they ask for is how good you are in your subjects.
Regarding future, if he is going to go for MS or M.Tech then he should choose the branch by his interest and if he is going MBA he may go for ECE as ECE is considered as a tougher branch to get into when compared to Mechanical Engineering.
