Here are the criteria details regarding your question-
Candidates whose mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava must have resided and studied for a duration of 7 years between 1st and 12th standards in disputed Kannada speaking area of South Solapur or Akkalkot or Jeth or Gadhinglaj Taluks of Maharashtra State or Kasargod or Hosadurga Taluks of Kerala State. Such candidates will have to undergo and clear the Kannada Language test.
Candidates who have studied for complete 10 academic years in Kannada language from 1st to 10th standard outside Karnataka need not appear for the Kannada Language Test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Such candidates must have studied and passed the qualifying exam from any recognised educational institution.
