Established in 1954, Government Polytechnic Gulzarbagh is one of the oldest polytechnic colleges in the state of Bihar. The Government Polytechnic Gulzarbagh functions under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Bihar and is approved by AICTE.

The Government Polytechnic Gulzarbagh courses include diploma courses in various engineering disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Ceramics, Textile and more.

Admissions for Government Polytechnic Gulzarbagh are based on the Diploma Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) for the first year. While lateral admission into the second year is done through the Diploma Combined Entrance Competitive Examination - LE (DCECE LE). These exams are conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Candidates must ensure they fulfil the Government Polytechnic Gulzarbagh eligibility criteria before applying for the courses. Government Polytechnic Gulzarbagh facilities include a computer centre, library, gymnasium and separate hostels for boys and girls.
