B.Tech Marine Engineering - Batch of 2026-01-01
Academics
Studying BTech Marine Engineering. Quality of teaching is good by well qualified faculty like scientists, engineers, chief engineers by profession. Everything is routine based and rules and regulations are well maintained. Sports event, cultural events, annual fest. Scholarship facility is also available
College Infra
1. Infrastructure is not that bad. College has good classrooms with white board, projector facility and free WiFi in whole campus along with hostel rooms. 2. Water and Electricity facility is also good 24×7. 3. Hostel rooms are ventilated with attached bathroom and kitchen, cleaned properly. 4. Library, large auditorium well air conditioned. 5. Gymnasium available for both girls and boys
Placements
Placement facility is really good. 2022 year achieved 100% placement record. If one is actually good in all aspects in college he/she will definitely get a placement. College is very supportive regarding this and the process is not very tough. Very good companies from shipping industry come for placement and package is also good

does lateral enter candidate has to give cet
Hello,
Mostly colleges takes JEE main for engineering admission and cutoff for lateral entry is different than 12th pass out students admission. Some colleges conducts a different exam for lateral entry candidates.
College of engineering:- it accepts KEAM for admission. For previous year cutoff you can visit the link:- https://www.careers360.com/colleges/college-of-engineering-trivandrum/cut-off
There is no separate exam to be taken. You will get selected as per your score in KEAM exam.
Indian Maritime University:- It has not given the cutoff. It accepts IMU-CET for admission. It provides Btech in marine engineering.

When lateral entry application starts?
Hello,
Indian Maritime University will release the application form registration window from 1st week of april in online mode. The last date will be around 2nd week of may.
For OBC and General the fees for application form is Rs.1000. and for ST/SC is 700. Candidates have to pay online.
the eligibility criteria for the exam is;-
Candidates must have passed 10 and 12 from a recognized board and must have Physics,Chemistry,Mathematics and English as major subjects. For general the percentage bar is 60% aggregate and minimum 50% in english. For SC/ST , there is 5% relaxation in aggrregate percentage but not in english subject.
