Indian Maritime University Kolkata campus is one the best campus in marine engineering. We have separate hostels, playground, basketball court, swimming pool, gymnasium, marine workshop and library in our campus.

I am studying in final year of marine engineering course. Marine engine, auxiliary machinery, mechanics of mechine, workshop technology and other machines are main parts of our syllabus. Faculty members are very helpful.

Placement of our college is overall good. Normally at about 90% of every batches from our batch gets placement on campus. Foreign shipping companies and Indian shipping companies are recruiting from our college.

As per government college, there are decent facilities regarding accommodation, mess and auxiliary facilities. The college are consists many facilities like swimming pool, playground, gymnasium and other indoor playground. Air conditioning and smart classroom are available in campus.

Academics is quite good. The professors are decent and very focused on studies and co curriculars. There are workshop classes regarding marine engineering and hand on practical works so that students got a fare chance to grow their academics theoretical knowledge.

Nowadays the placement of our college is deteriorating due to negligence of professors. They are not approaching the shipping companies. Normally foreign shipping companies as well as indian shipping companies are recruiting from our college.

Imu kolkata is oldest marine engineering college in India. Senior hostel is overall good. Single occupancy is allowed in senior hostel. Marine workshop, dispensary, swimming pool and large playground, labs are available in our campus.

Now I am studying in final year of 4 year B.tech marine engineering course in this college. Faculties are most of our college passouts. Internal combustion engine, Marine electrical, workshop technology and naval architecture, marine design are main paper of our course.

Placement is overall very good in our batch. After clearing 6th semester I got a chance of an interview in Sanmar shipping. I got placement in this company. At about 90% of every batch gets placement on campus. Many shipping companies are normally recruiting from our college.

Infrastructure of Imu kolkata is overall good. Hostel facility is moderate. Big playground, basketball court, computer & electrical labs are also available in our campus. We have smart classroom facility. Library is very good for reading.

I am studying now in final year of B.tech marine Engineering course. Professors are very helpful and kind hearted. Marine related subjects like machinery, engines and boiler system are main parts in our syllabus.

Placement of our batch is very good till now. At about 90% of every batch got placement on campus. Shipping companies and shipyard limited are recruiting from our campus. Average salary offered as TME is 5 LPA.

Our college classrooms are net and clean. We have many facilities in our campus like marine workshop, computer lab, marine electronics and electrical labs. Hostel facility is overall good. In hostel, food quality is moderate.

Our faculty members are truly knowledge, well educated and helpful. They explain any concept with their practical experience. Marine machinery, Internal combustion engine, marine boiler are the main topic of our syllabus.

our recent senior batch hold 90% placement record from on campus. Many foreign and indian shipping companies are recruiting for the job. The MSC, fleet management, TORM are main recruiting companies from our campus.

IMU Kolkata offers above average living conditions for students with each year having seperate hostels 2nd and 4th year hostels have the best infrastructure and even the newly renovated 1st year hostel

High skilled professors with marine oriented courses and technologically upgraded means of teaching is implemented. Practical courses incude highly ranged machineries in workshops along with real life marine simulator courses.

Wide range of companies visit the campus for recruitment try keeping a personal academic percentage of 72 and above and remain all clear placement wouldnt be an issue rest no. of companies visiting has reduced to some extent still overall its all good.

The college is not that good as it earlier used to be it has become hub of nonsense people who think themselves as to be too high which is not at all true ... Faculties not so good except some .. hell infrastructure ... Food is below average

Again except some .. rest is very bad ... The infrastructure and faculty is not that good so not recommended and syllabus is not well defined and maths is near to none .. not making engineers but rather maintaince people who are rot theroy learner

Good till now placements are happening due to passouts but cadets quality is not good so company might stop comming anyday .. rather than relying on legacy .. mangement should take priority in grooming the cadets

The college is 75 years old(upto 2026) and all the building infrastructure and the machines are old in workshop but still running. Here we have academic buildings, Auditorium, assembly Hall, park, temple, mosque, play ground, basketball court, badminton court, swimming pool, and many more things and lot of different types of laboratories

Here there are lot of awesome faculties with good background in research and most of faculties are retired chief engineer and our passouts and we have experienced workshop faculties who have ground level experiences.

If you don't have back in any paper then you will get lot of chances for sitting in placement but if you have any back in any paper you may suffer . Placement rate is very good currently. But due to Iran and US war the job opportunity has affected little bit.

I am studying B.tech marine engineering from this college. our faculty members are really helpful and truly knowlegable. Marine engine, marine auxiliary machinery, boiler, workshop technology and marpol laws are in our syllabus.

overall placement is very good. At about 90% of our immediate senior batch got placement on campus. many foreign companies like MSC, zodiac, Genco, kouk are recruiting from our batch. average package of us is 5 LPA in starting year.
