Hello student. To both the colleges are pretty good in the faculty, course curriculum,  infrastructure.. in all these both are really good.

But when it comes to placements, that too in the department of computer science, thapar university is comparatively better compared to that of iiit pune.

Pretty better companies and better packages in thapar university in comparison with iiit pune exist. So my suggestion would be to go for it

Placements at IIT are good for computer science students. The average package for students is around 4 lakhs per annum. The highest package goes up to 10 lakhs per annum. Mazon companies visiting the college are as follows:

It's difficult to tell you to tell you the exact about the admission possibilities. With this percentile, The chances are less to get a seat in IIIT Pune. The other chances you can have-

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal-B.tech EEE & Mechanical, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad Prayagraj- B.tech IT, ECE Etc.

no you can't change your iiit as you are going through counciling conducted by the people of jee.once,you get a seat in one of the colleges and if you are not happy with the  college then try to seat in 2nd counciling.if your marks permit you to change your institution then go for it.otherwise you have to stay in that college.

For your kind information let me tell you that IIIT Pune is really a very good college. It offers B-tech degree in two courses these are computer science engineering and electronics and communication engineering. You can get more details related to minimum and maximum rank from given link.

IIIT DM kancheepuram(2007) is an old institute compared to IIIT Pune(2016). IIIT Pune doesn't have proper facility for food,water, facility and infrastructure. IIIT Pune doesn't even has a permanent campus. Faculty is also temporary.

None of these problems are there in IIIT DMK. Package of IIIT DMK CSE is also good. (There isn't a placement record of IIIT Pune, being a new institute)

All in all, it is not a good choice compared to IIIT DMK.

I would like to inform you that with a ranking of 50k plus, chances are fifity - fifty that you might get one of the above mentioned colleges in the spot round of jee. If you are looking for the top four or five branches then chances are less , but you can get mining or some lower branches in spot round.

Which categories you belongs to?

It is very difficult to get selected in these college but after that also try in counselling

IIIT Pune is really shaping up and will be really beneficial as Pune is IT HUB which will give you heap of opportunities.

IIIT Nagpur is not fit now to take the admission here, current scenario is very disturbing.
