JEC is better that MITS because there are a number of reason's I am listing below:

1) JEC has better infrastructure than MITS.

2) Jabalpur is nicer to live than that of Gwalior.

3) JEC have a great number of alumni excelling in the different fields.

4) Government have said it to be one of the ' BEST GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE '.

5) Have a large campus.

This are the reasons which is comparably beneficial than MITS Gwalior

The cutoff marks for

• Assam Engineering College, Guwahati is around 130.
• Jorhat Engineering College is around 120.

According to your rank you would definitely be eligible to get in to these colleges.

With your Category rank of 1340 in JEE mains, you can get into a number of colleges, better still if you have a state quota. Here are a few of them:

1. School of Engineering – Tezpur University
2. Pondicherry Engineering College
3. NIT Delhi
4. NIT Patna
5. NIT Andhra

The above list is based on previous year's cutoffs and doesn't provide the exact details since cutoffs vary each year. That being said. You have a chance at getting into JEC, maybe not with CS but with streams such as ECE and ME.

As you didn't mention your category I'm assuming you're from general category
With 82 marks from being general category you cannot get into jorhat engineering college based on previous year cutoff which is 105

With 111 marks from being general category you can't get into jorhat institute of science and Technology, as the cutoff is of 120 marks. But you can get into bineswar bramha engineering college as the previous year cutoff is 110 marks.

To get seat in civil branch in aec your marks is insufficient but there is a slight chances to get seat in jec. Hi there,

As per your query, i want to inform you that your marks do not qualify the minimum GATE cut off for year 2020.

Also the college CGPA is only valuable in interviews of different institutions but to apply for counselling process, you need to at least get through the minimum basic cut off  of GATE to get any Govt. College.
