SDM Technical Institute, started in the year 2008 is a premier institution sited in Ujire, in the Belthangadi Talluk, Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. This affiliated college recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) offer a number of diploma courses in the stream of engineering. Established on a large area of 11.1 acres of land, this institute has a total strength of students as 435 and a total number of faculties as 30. SDM Technical Institute is offering technical education and introducing four diploma courses in the field of Computer Science, Civil, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical and Electronics & Telecommunication.

In this regard, SDM Technical Institute cannot boast of providing its students with even a dozen distinctive learning facilities that can improve their course attendance. The campus is equipped with different hostel sections for male and female students, making the students comfortable especially those who stay outside the campus. There is a gym which has all the facilities required for the persons who want to be fit and fine. The college library plays a central role of information center where the students they get a lot of valuable informational resources. Athletic people could take opportunities of indoor and outdoor exercising facilities to support their health and balance time between academic learning and exercise. Our institute has a good Information Technology back up that caters itself to the contemporary strategies of education and update students of new technologies. Students and staff of the college get there food requirements to met by a cafeteria within the compound. The institute has also well equipped laboratories for each department of the institute where the students can practice themselves in their areas of specialisation.

There are in total four full time diploma courses offered by SDM Technical Institute which lasts for three years of duration. These courses are related to various engineering fields and assists student to groom them in technical education. The institute has total approved intake of 240 students for all its courses and capacity of 60 students in every course offered. This helps in determining an adequate students per faculty ratio so that the students may easily be trained. The institute provides general information about pass out students, offering to prepare qualified specialists for technical employment, based on the industry-oriented training and education.
